O' Navy - valiant and courageous

Just doing a causal look post on what I wore at the Navy Open House! Looking real sweaty and shag, I mean what do you expect right? I just came home from a tough  day out. Haha!
Blue Watch
I wanted to go for a blue theme because Navy is associated to the water and water is associated to the colour blue. So I grabbed my Valiant Sports watch.
Okay, I am going to talk more about my watch because this Valiant watch i really special. It has a plastic brick strap, my favourite for a sport watch and it is ok it doesn't de-colourise even with the sweat. GOOD!
valiant
But the most fascinating thing is you can actually personalise your own Valiant watch, creating something so uniquely you. You can mix and match, dismantle the whole watch and build a new one.
You can just buy a few straps and you will have a ton of different watches at a minimal price. Very economical and fiercely creative in my opinion.

I am part of IM3

The ironman fanatic in me jumped out for joy when I realise my post got lucky and won me some pretty cool and sleek movie premiums from Nuffnang.
iron-man-8
I think most people would agree with me that the best things would have to be the larnyard and the tee. Well some people like notebooks too, I guess. The stickers are nothing fancy but still good to receive. :p
Ironman notebook
Actually, I change my mind. This notebook is actually kinda of "my-type". And by this, I pretty much mean lined books. Second ruled book this year, dang I could just be a scribbling book merchandise collector. Hahaha.
I really like how each page has Iron Man 3 printed on it though.
Ironman
My collage of the stuff I got just to prove I really have them. I am just a nutcase sometimes. LOL LOL LOL!
Have a great long weekend people!!! =P

Navy Open House Rant

I woke up at like 9 am after a long day yesterday to go to the NAVY Open House. I was initially really excited and was not dampened by the fact it is halfway around Singapore (at least for me)...until I was welcomed by the huge crowd.

crowd
Omg it was like some family excursion with parents pushing trolleys, grandma and grandpas and also little kids running around. After like 1 hour plus of queuing, honestly, I am abit sian :( And there was only one little launch boat on display, so I ended up taking a lot of repeated photos of it to kill time.
navy1
So when you finally reach the place, you will be welcomed by huge vessels. I thought they were cool but my friend being real grouchy said they were just boringly grey. Apparently, guys have absolutely no love for the armed forces after 2 long years in army. -.-
By the time I even reached the site from the Expo hall, it was already lunch time! The food vendors...sucked. The price was reasonable until you see the portion, it was terrible. I would rather have army food rations, honestly speaking. I bought fake shark fin and it was way worse than the fake cheapo shark fin I could find at the night market. :(
OH2
Ok, I have to admit it was a great open house for children and families. It was like following a USS concept. There were many fun stuff to try out and even walking mascots. But my friend said they were not cute at all. I tried out the fireman suit (I wanted to wear the smart white Navy suit. So disappointing, realize at the end that it was in another tent!!! Became real grouchy near the end, cos I didn't get a photo suited in that. T.T)
There was also a display show but because there were so many people. I could only watch through the screen. I was undercut by kids who you know pretty much slipped under my arm to get a better view. Not much chances for photo opportunities too.
Steadfast
We queued for another hour or so to board steadfast. My friend wanted to board Swift Rescue because it is so colorful compared to the rest. I managed to convince him it is no difference from a commercial vessel. If he wants to board it, there will be plenty of chance in the future. I can arrange it for him...maybe. LOL!
You come to the navy open house, of course you have to check out a navy vessel! You can totally see the crowd even on board the vessel. Took the opportunity to take a photo with everything and even sat on the commanding officer's chair and gave my most authoritative look! *thumbs up* I totally can sign on!
Normal
On the inside, there is really no difference from a typical commercial vessel. The bunks look a little like cheap cruises. It looks comfy in my opinion. But my friend claims it is all an act to trick gullible little kids like me to sign on. I don't mind signing on though. The pay looks good. Haha!
endurance
Saddest moment was when I saw Endurance towards the end. I totally regretted boarding steadfast. Even my friend thinks Endurance seems impressive on the outside. What a rare statement!!! until he said great floating warehouse to store everything. -.-
Sometimes you just shouldn't save the best for the last. Because I have not enough time for the last...and the best. *sobs*
others
Last minute quick snaps of everything. I think we should have taken the duck tour, probably would get a nice overview of everything though I think my grouchy partner would have fallen asleep. He saw one of his tanks on display and I was like "Omg you want to take photo or not?"
And he was like "No, why would I want to take photo with it!?!" Geez, guys can be so touchy when it comes to NS. Lol.
Overall, I think the Navy Open House was not too bad, just that you have to go earlier and stay later. I had to leave early for my friend's screening :( which I ended up missing in the end cos the bus queue was so damn long. All the photos are so grey and dreary too. Haha. And guy partners for such excursions are lousy choices. LOL!!!

LOTD: Skater Girl

Created a funky swag look with my slox and nice graphic tee. I paired it off with a pink cap and I am ready to become a skater girl. Felt a little under the weather so I looked a bit dull.
My graphic tee is made of cotton and extremely comfy in the warm weather. It is a little see-through though, but I guess something got to give...bleh...

Hey Mummy, it's your day!

Bouquet
Whee...check out the bouquet in my house. Gorgeous pink carnations :)
Yes, I love pink and so I picked pink to make a bouquet for my Mum. (Sometimes I wonder if it is my day, or mum's day Lol!) The flowers are arranged by me truly. I really do think I have some rare talent.
*Ahem* Even the miniature figurine in red is also made by me. (Simply can't pass up the chance to self-praise. Hehe)
mother day
Some shots of the bouquet in my house. That's Dad bouquet for Granny. LOL! Looks uglier than mine in my opinion. I am the BEST! And my flower arrangement skills are unparalleled. Haha.
snail
And check out my matching (s)nail.  Haha lousy word play! Mum did her nails too but her fingers are crinkly so they don't look as good. And hence, I didn't post them up. :(
Sigh, it is really tough being a Mum. You have ugly fingers and lose your figure. Wonder if it is worth it, since the by-product - Me - aint much of an angel. :(
When I grow up and become a Mum myself, I will then understand. I think...I am still a kid, pardon me for my immaturity.
boubou
Well to end off the post, to all Mummys out there, have a great mother's day! May you bloom in your sunshine *kids* glory!!!

Moleskine: The Plain Beauty

Well, lucky me, my great flair for writing has once again won me something courtesy of Nookmag. Indeed,  creativity and good writing skills are pretty lethal tools when put together.
2
White as snow.
Having a pearly white Moleskine will be one versatile accessory that can up my elegance as either as the icy Snow Queen or the delicate Snow White.
moleskine
Guess, I just got my elegance factor upped by a notch. I really like this notebook and am definitely very curious on what the whole hype is all about. But...I am not opening it yet...unfortunately.
It is a real clean slate apart from the ruled lines. I want to save it for New Year next year. It is good to start a new life on a new page. :) Not going to use it for a dairy though, since now I have a blog to document my interesting stuff and well I am not in the mood to jot down anymore sad stuff in my life.
white
Haha, managed to find some pictures of it to share. It is really plain pretty. Simple charm and ooh, it is a exclusive limited edition. *winks*
Can't wait to doodle and taint such pureness...oh how evil I can be some days...LOL!

Black Box: Apr Edition

From a supposedly monthly subscription, it has now become a bi-monthly subscription. How disappointing! :(

I hope it doesn't become a quarterly thing next. And the next thing we know, poof, there goes the black box. Hmph.
Black Box
This time round, I received my black box around the same time as all my buddies. Anyway, I realise Black Box discriminates against older woman. My Mum applied for a box and didn't receive hers. But my friend despite applying for it later, managed to get a subscription box.
Well, at least we know, a household can get more than one box. I guess maybe it is because of the samples' target audience. They seem to appeal a younger girl more than an older woman.
Apr BB
In terms of design and layout, there is not much changes. Apart from a white sheer paper, the samples are now wrapped up in an orange sheer paper.
My favourite has to be the baby wipes. It is a full-size product and I just like baby wipes. :) It makes you smell like a baby butt after a sweaty day out. Not saying that there is anything sexy about smelling like a kid's ass...LOL! My mum on the other hand is more excited about Varnish sample pack. Haha!
BB2
As usual, it is flooded with useless vouchers I will never use. Pretty excited about the facial products though and Loreal revitalift. Food samples are the best because they are just so practical.
One feedback on Black Box: don't think they should give repeated samples unless well we request for it. It is my second time receiving Darlie toothpaste and nature valley energy bar. I happen to like both a lot. But in terms of marketing, it doesn't seen to make much a sense. Just saying...
If you want to get one too, the link is here.  =)

LOTD: Boldadelicios Tacky

Finally got about to doing a LOTD. Felt inspired to do a Dinner and Dance theme. I am not sure if I am some super-hero or modern Geisha. Haha, it is fun to play dressed up. Boldadelicios Tacky! *whatever that means HAHAHA*

My floral dress is from NoixCracker. I am not really that into flowers and stuff. I got this in their grab-bag. Honestly, what you see is really not what you get. This was the only decent piece I got. The rest are...non-wearables. I had to plead with my good sense not to be nasty and post the thrash back. Not worth buying from. -.-
I like my sleeves socks - slox a lot! Reminds me of spider-man's webs. Feel really empowered wearing it, like I am some superhero inside. And I think it really goes well with the stockings. Sheer is just sexy...hahaha
Found the fan in my wardrobe and decided to toss it in as a prop in the look. Geez, mandarin fans are really gorgeous. I am starting to embrace my Chinese roots.

Last but not least, Happy May Day! To all the good ole folks out there, happy laboring! :)
