Top Referrer for Huggies Refer a Friend Program (2021)

Ended the year on a pretty good note cos our little guy received a gift from Huggies. Apparently, we are once again crowned again the Top Referrer 2 years in a row straight. To be honest, it has been tough keeping up with the content, not just for Baby Talk but for our other series so any validation of our hard work is always welcomed. 

Baby Talk is probably one of our most successful series. Am really happy that this series help parents and that there is such good traction. I am hoping my gardening series go smoothly too because being a plantrent is even harder. Am sure homeowners would appreciate any advice.

Merry X'mas: Wishtrend Listicle

I am notoriously known for being hard to please when it comes to gifts. So I think my listicle for skincare products should hold some weight. Here we go~~~keeping it sweet and sharp...so only 3 sets (which I have used and strongly advocate)!

For the girls who love a surprise... Sparkle Moments Box ($36)

We received one of these ourselves and we absoulely love it, especially since we are fans of Klairs products. In the box, you will find the popular Kairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner and the Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop ($16.10). Best of all, it even comes with a Popperoni Card which I am saving it because I am too scared to spoil the moment. 

For the practical ladies... Klairs Hand Wash ($30) and Klairs Hand Cream ($30)

To keep Covid at bay, one of the recommendations is to wash your hand before eating or touching your face. We have tried out these 2 items and love how it mildly exfoliates your hand during a wash. If you have been to luxurious hotels, you would notice they would always put a hand cream at the side for your to moisturise your hands. Since you are washing your hands more now, it makes sense to give them the best and not dry them out. So gift your friends a set. It will be very handy and be used!

For the overworked mothers...Fundamental Eye Care Set ($34.30)

I use them myself and have recommended these to tired mothers. So far, I have managed to retain my "crowless-feet" eyes and I give the credit to these products. Our eyes is one of the indicators people use to determine our age. So, I always recommend mothers to take good care of their eyes (cos somehow we always overlook them). I assure you your Mummy friends will love them!

Behind the Wall by Gateway Arts

 Here's something pretty meaningful for the educators, older kids and maybe even the adults. 

Behind the Wall is basically a 30-mins film that provides a glimpse into the lives of the migrant workers (whom we take for granted). With a greater understanding and appreciation for them, hopefully this will hopefully in time help break away our stereotypical opinions towards them. To be quite honest, I have never spoken to a migrant worker myself and is guilty of being "frighten that they will rape me" (Like what the hell is wrong with me right?)

But I don' really want my child to grow up like me, so I do feel shows like this does help to educate them to be better people. The show is designed for children aged 5-12 so it is very light-hearted musical. The tunes were surprisingly catchy and I found myself bopping my head along. 

Behind the Wall is a 30 mins film presented by Gateway Arts (which I am not entirely unfamiliar with) and their productions are really good. (It would have been better if we could watch it live!) From the backdrops, camera angles, and medium of expression (tik tok inspired to relate to the younger kids, handmade props to show the aerial view), I could see the effort taken to make this production. 

In my time, such shows were quite common and I remember watching them on tape (dead giveaway on my age LOL!) So, I really wanted my son (who is not even 5 to watch it). As you can see, he did enjoy it but because I screened it on my laptop, he was very distracted by my keypad and touchscreen. Tip: Screen it on TV instead. 

After the show, there are also post-activities for the kids to do. The whole programme is best for kids aged 5 to 12, but you can just watch the show and not do the activities if your kids are younger or not ready for them. The programme will be avaialbel for public screening via SISTIC from 18-31 Dec. You can get your tickets here at $20!

For parents who have kids, you might be keen to check out the Arts Kids Club that provides weekly activities (on a Saturday). I am waiting for my kid to quickly grow up so that he can join in future.
