Food Tour 24: Tea Time Special

Decided to consolidate a post dedicated to tea-time because this girl here loves coffee, tea and her sweet treats.

The Afternoon High Tea Set is only available at Cedele MBS. Personally, I don't find it as value for money as raved by many. The food is decent, was a bit bummed by the fact that there was no refills and the portion was not enough to be lunch. (Yes, I wanted to have it for late lunch).

It was also quite understaffed that day so it was difficult for me to just catch the attention of any service person. My kid was nonetheless happy, attacking the fires and chocolate pastries.

I came across the fancy store not knowing that they are more known for their coffee and took away some nice-looking pastries. The packaging is impeccable. They even gave a card folder like thing for the receipt. In terms of taste, the pastries taste pretty good but are rather small. And maybe it is just me, I still prefer the pastries from Tiong Bahru Bakery. My FIL (a home baker) explained that both croissants are made from different methods and hence the different textures but both are very exquisite.

Update: We tried the coffee and I didn't like it. Too fancy for me maybe?

I might have saved the best for last because this is my favourite teahouse. I have tried their matcha products and seasame ice-cream and always leave feeling so satisfied. It might just be my life goal to try all their selection one day. I have even went a step further and purchase tea leaves from them. Guess you can tell how much I like their products. You can also join their tea appreciation experiences should you be keen :)

*Updated* Home-Education Curriculum

I have decided to set up a whole series on this because I am reaally passionate about this topic. I have met too many parents who are incessantly worried that their children will "lag behind" because they are not being sent to a childcare at 6 months old (which I honestly think is way too young to start "school" if we compare to our overseas peers).

Also, I wanted to assure other parents as long as we put in "thoughtful playtime", our kids will end up acquiring skills that will aid them in their development as well. Our Little One is about 15 months when we were using this set of curriculum and when we visited the PD, he was described as "advanced" so hope this helps!

9am - Wake Up!

9am to 10am - Preparing of breakfast. He either watches us prepare the oats and join in the simple pouring/ stirring activities. At 20 months, we introduced him to the peeling of hard boiled eggs.

10am to 11am - Morning Stroll at the garden. Usually we take the time to point out to him some creatures and also visit a few shops as we do our grocery run. He would also stop by the laundry shop to watch the machine drum spin (one of his fav. activitiy).

11am to 12noon - Indoor Activities. Watering of plants and feeding of pet fishes/ Helping with simple housework i.e. vacuuming the floor, hanging of the clothes

12noon to 1pm - Lunch Time. He can't really sit still so this is also TV time for him.

1pm to 2pm - Bath Time/ Water Play. He either play with bubbles, a bath cloth or bath toys!

2pm to 5pm - Naptime!

5pm to 7pm - Playtime with cousins. His cousins actually live upstairs, so it helps with his social skills. Sometime they will all go to the playground together.

7pm to 8pm - Dinner. Similarly, this is also TV time.

8pm to 9pm - Bath time/ Random activities with Mummy and Daddy (it can include chasing us around the house, colouring or setting up the bubble machine at the corridor)

9pm onwards: Story, Song and Bedtime

* Note: The schedule is not fixed and may be shorter or longer depending on his mood of the day. We do invest in quite a lot of toys so that he can have variated playtime. :) You can check out our "Homeschool Curriculum for Singapore" tag to find out where we get some of our resources for the LO.

Wishtrend Again

This girl loves her Wishtrend loots and it is probably no secret by now. This time round, I basically did a restock on my holy grail which I have been using religiously and tried out 2 more products because I need them, LOL!

I am not entirely sure if WFH for too long a period has my body weak. But now during the walks for my daily commute, I would be perspiring like crazy. The natural flush is great, but I hate looking all wet and sweaty. So I decided to give this face mist a try. I was tempted by the ingredients - Jeju Green Tea Water, Cucumber, Rice, Okra etc. all this sounds really nutritious for my face

This product promises to lock the moisture in the skin and I love how it makes my face so dewy (this is without any make-up by the way). It also makes my face less dry in the continuous aircon environment. Adding this to my favs :)

So...my lip is having a bit of a peel issue. I am not sure whether it is because of the raging hormones or the continuous aircon. But regardless, I decided to do something about it. This lip balm is pretty great. It doesn't have much of a scent and is not sticky. It glides on my lip and it did prevent any more annoying peels. You can use it as a day balm or a mask at night. I just use it as whenever my lips feel dry.

The only thing that bugs me a little is the application. You need to use your fingers to dap it on. Given the whole pandemic situation, I don't really prefer as much finger contact on my face as before. I always wash my hands before and after application. It would be great if it was in a stick form

Hello, Holy Grail, you can read about my review here. Interestingly, I have been receiving comments that I am aging backwards. Stoke about it obviously, now I just have to work on my Mum-Tum, which I seriously have an issue with. Not sharing any product photo, but an awesome no-makeup selfie. This beautiful face uses 100% Wishtrend products, just so you know :P
