2025 Top 40 Best Singapore Mom Blogs and Websites (#15)

Feeling quite happy lately, because ForFunk has won a few awards with this being one of them. To be quite frank, we started more as a lifestyle blog and only moved towards writing about parenthood related issues / reviews when the kids came. In 2023, we managed to squeeze in the Top 100 Asian Mom Blogs. And this year we are ranked 15 in Singapore. Although it is not an Apple-to-Apple comparison, I do feel that ForFunk have risen up the ranks. :P

We haven't been writing as much since the kids arrived but we try to keep our content relevant and interesting. So thank you all for making this happen. It is a really much needed acknowledgement to keep this passion going :)

Wan 2 Play - Kinex

Since we have a Wan 2 Play membership, it has become our goal to visit every outlet. We went to one of their newer space at Kinex. It was of a space themed and the first outlet we extended our play time by another half an hour. Despite not being touted as one of their flagship stores, this outlet was pretty deserving of the title.

Generally, most indoor playgrounds (and theirs) follow a specific formula with some additional wow factor. Maybe because this one had a larger area, there was a lot more to play. Apart from the usual ball pits and slides, this one even came with a tiny arcade area. The kids could go on free rides and played some of the games you would normally find in an arcade.

The internal structures were a little more complicated as not every area was fully linked. You may slide into different arenas. Among the places we have been to, their trampoline was the most fun, maybe because they had a space laden with sponges for the kids to jump in and bury themselves within. This place has everything we know- hinoki pits, cooking pretend play area, mini scooters, magnetic tiles - very comprehensive.

To complete the whole "space look", there were even led lights embedded in their ceiling. The light changes to give a different space mood. As there was no natural light and use of led lights, the place was a little darker. But surprisingly, the photos turn out to be pretty decent. One of my favourite indoor playground. Would strongly recommend this to any parents who are looking for a place to bring their children out!

Tengah Plantation Plaza: Bouncetopia

Got some discounted tickets so we decided to go Bouncetopia - Tengah Plantation Plaza. To date, we have not really visited a Bouncetopia outlet. Most are pop-ups etc. Personally as an adult, I can't see how fun bouncing around for 2 hours can be, Lol. I find it more exhausting and an utter workout. But my kids like it, they can bounce around all day.

Bouncetopia - Tengah Plantation Plaza was pretty new, so everything was nice and clean. The outlet itself isn't big but had high ceilings so the slide could go high. Apart from 1 specific area which was filled with Hinoki beads, the rest were different variations of bouncy castles - mixed with a ball pit, ball aiming area and walls for climbing.

We took the 2 hours slot, which was sufficient enough for the kids to play through everything quite thoroughly and even stop for a bit of popsicle break. If the kids are any older, they may get bored quicker. Fortunately, the group wasn't particularly old and rowdy. If rough play were involved, my kids might have been bounced off the place.

After our bounce, we decided to explore Tengah Plantation Plaza, which was pretty boring and had nothing much. I guess it is always nice to have an indoor playground within a community mall, although hehe (maybe I am an adult), I prefer cinemas and gyms still.

Fairy Story Ecological Farm - DO NOT STAY THERE!

I am writing this REAL review on the Fairy Story Ecological Farm because there isn't much honest reviews online. The husband found this place and went ahead to book it partially because of the nice reviews we saw online on Trip.com and Google Reviews and also because it was the vacation period, we couldn't find a place that could accommodate our huge group of people.

First of all, you need to know that all their "5-Stars" reviews are bought. They will tempt you with a upgrade to a room with the skyroofs and make you write smashing reviews (pre-vetted by them) on the platforms. I was coerced to write 4 (2 on trip.com and another 2 on Google Reviews - sounds like duplications for 1 stay to rig the system) and edit until they were satisfied or pay S$60/ room/ night. I wrote eventually because I would rather NOT pay them any extra. Also, whatever additional farmstay activities they are providing are at least twice market price.

To be fair, the rooms at Fairy Story Ecological Farm were very decent. It was clean, well decorated and came with really good amenities i.e. hot filtered water which was great for sterilizing the children's bottles. There were even areas for you to hang your washed clothes. The children especially love the slides and we enjoyed staring at the sky to hunt for stars before we went to sleep.

What I didn't like was how Fairy Story Ecological Farm didn't honestly manage the business. This place will forever be almost fully booked on various platforms. But, Fairy Story Ecological Farm is in fact very empty with the rooms on the top floor used to extort 5 stars. To set the record straight, I am not against giving well-deserved 5 stars rating, but it is another thing when you try to control my content and threatening to charge ridiculous extra charges if it was not done. I just don't like the idea of being milked off every penny. This leave such a bad taste, and I think anyone who is contemplating a stay there should know of true experience ahead before booking it.

Awfully Chocolate: Raclette Wheel

To be quite frank, when I first saw people sharing on this, I just couldn't figure out what a Chocolate Raclette Wheel did. I received a 1-for-1 voucher and decided to give it a try. First, you need to know that only the Wisma Atria Outlet and their buffet had this. The buffet is really hard to book so if you are dying to give a try fast, this is the place to go.

The selection in this outlet is different from the rest. There was a lot more interesting variety. We decided to try out the Profiterole Tower (which the children were utterly impressed with) and the Chocolate Pound Cake. The kids enjoyed pouring the chocolate over the pound cake and Profiterole Tower and indulged happily in their sweet treats.

On top of that, I also ordered the Muah Chee (which I thought wouldn't be able to be found outside) as well as one of their chocolate drinks. We might have over-ordered and by the end of it, we were all on a "sugar-rush". Overall, I thought the price was a little on the high side (even after my use of voucher), but the chocolate was really top tier.

If you want a value-for-money deal, I would recommend the buffet. This is really more of an one-off thrill for me and it was a pretty good chocolate experience.

Nowhere Baths

I thought it was pure exaggeration to make bathing pleasurable. But Nowhere Bathhouse proved me wrong. I first came across it because it was on a few major media. Based on the photos, it looked really luxurious and I really wanted to go for an onsen experience. It was located within the Dempsey enclave and there was so much to do there. On my ride there, my driver even double confirm if I were going to bath. I gave a sheepish yesh. He was so impressed at the drop-off, he told me he might bring his wife here too.

Compared to other places, it was $55 for a 2 hours session. I thought it was pretty affordable. No photos allowed inside, but basically you are supposed to wear a bathing suit and enjoy sauna, steam, soaks (hot and iced). Crowd control was excellent, I never felt more at ease and in tune with myself. I felt so in tune with myself and positively recharged after. There was no rush. Based on observation, most were either a solo or couple retreat.

For me, I struggled with the cold plunge and one of the hot soaks. I couldn't make my way in. I was not alone, I noticed others had the same problems. My husband said the cold plunge was really good for health, but I just couldn't.  My favourite was the sauna. It was therapeutic to laze around. My only grouse was some young couple engaging in some display of affection at the wash area. Erms...really awkward and I didn't know where to look. Perhaps the management need to put this into their ground rules.

Back to happy thoughts, bathing was another divine experience. I spent half an hour bathing and thoroughly enjoying myself. Wow. I never knew I love bathing so much. I think it helps that the soap provided was aromatic and body/hair oils were provided after. Better than a massage, I couldn't stop raving about it and felt I NEEDED to tell the world about it. Will be back again, I really need this bliss.

Food Tour 57: Underrated Food

I decided to dedicate this post to the under-rated food I have tried. Not all F&B engage reviewers, but lucky from them, sometimes I just like to do free shout-outs :D These are some really good ones, so do give them a try and support. I would be so sad if some of them leave our F&B scene.

This is such an under-rated place. This is our second time there to try their menu. I don't know why they don't have the crowd they truly deserve because their food is insanely delicious. True to its American diner culture, the serving was extremely generous too. I wanted clean shots but the kids couldn't stop pinching the food (and I don't blame them). The only issue is that because most of the food is deep-fried, it can get surfeiting after a while. We ta-bao-ed back and it still tasted good when cold. This place deserves more patrons.

This is a really popular place which I am sure some of you may have heard of ahead. (Sorry, but I gatekeep, haha. Just couldn't deal with the longer queues.) Not that I have been there that many times, but I attempt to eat everything on their menu eventually. Generally, all that I have tried surpassed expectations. Here are some of my recurring favourites - Peanut Ice Cream Roll, Gua Bao (not in photos) and San Bei Chicken.

A $40/ pax budget should feed you well. Also, I would like to add on a drink every time I am there. They have a few outlets, but I always go to the Redhill one so I am not fully sure of the quality at their other outlets. But please make reservations otherwise the walk-in queue can be quite crazy.

I am sure many of you have heard of this place. It has become such a staple that many might have forgotten how great of a comfort food this is. What I really love about their porridge, noodles apart being delicious is that they are really kids-friendly too. My kids love their food too. It is one of my go to place when I am out with the family (and most of their outlets are located in heartland malls), so they are easy to find. If it is a rainy day and I am near an outlet, you are so likely to find me there. Yummy and the elders in my home approve - not too salty, not too much MSG. You get my point!

Huggies Club Referral 2025 - Winner

It is really a great moment for ForFunk because we have gotten back our top title. It is a great confidence booster and is a way for us to really know we are engaging with parents. Thank you guys for reading our kids related content and following our parenting journey.

As you readers can tell, I do love trying out new experiences. But not all are good experiences, hence I always found it particularly meaningful to share it here so that our parents can better use their resources. It also gives me a good reason to keep bringing the kids for novel experiences :P I may want to branch into other series, so please support them too!
