Splashtopia 2026: Ride the Wave of Aloha

Lately the weather is just killing. I am sweating so much and can't live without aircon. When I told the kids Splashtopia is back at Sentosa - Palawan Beach, the kids were celebrating! Something like a combination of swimming fun and bouncy castle, this always bring a smile to the kids. Most importantly, I found their events thoughtful and well-organised.

Even when the crowd grow, it never gets rowdy with the staff looking out for the little ones. This year, it came back way bigger with eight one-of-a-kind giant bouncy castles and pools with a Hawaiian theme.

If your children are into mascots, check out the timeslot, as Kiztopia Friends will be making special appearances. There are even mermaids meet-and-greet on specific days which made my daughter extremely happy. Each tickets are sold at 3 hours slots, but by 2 hours in, quite a bit of energy has been burnt.

Food is sold at a very affordable price and there are always plenty of seats so we don't bother stepping out of their vicinity. Usually the children will gather around1.5hr mark to recharge with their food and water breaks. If your children are still around the baby-stage, I will suggest going during the weekdays as it is less crowded and you would need to join them in the pool. As mine are already toddlers, I can leave them to wander on their own.

Don't be surprise, but even adults join in sometimes because some slides are incredibly thrilling. I tend to let the children go first. This time round, there are even water gun fights for the older kids! The package price are the best in terms of value. Splashtopia 2026: Ride the Wave of Aloha will be at the Palawan Beach from the June Holidays all the way till 28th June. Sometimes we even go more than once! Ending with a packing list which you can just follow:
  • Swimwear
  • 1 spare set of clothes
  • Sunblock
  • Towel
  • Shampoo/ Soap (Note that shower facilities are at the beach area)
  • Phone to take photos

Review of Oceanarium

Oceanarium rebranded and opened and we finally made our way there. To be quite frank, apart from the jelly fish exhibition, I didn't find the whole Oceanarium to be particularly impressive. The design of the whole area was a little like a maze. Halfway in, with the dim lights and all, I was feeling rather lethargic pretty eager to get out.

Overall, it looks quite the same. I pretty much enjoyed the peep into the aquarist lab. There is the option of an insider experience, where you can have behind-the-scene visits and one-to-one with certain aquatic creatures. The additional price varies, but when you are coming as a family - it can add up to being pretty pricey. And at this stage, I just can't bear paying it and some just merely guided tours which feels like a rip-off.

There was still an area for the guests to touch the marine creatures. I am not sure whether it is fixed - but touching the cleaner shrimps are just pretty meh. I have them in my tank at home too. So tell me, what's so special?!? Still, my kids went for the experience twice since the queue was non-existent. We got our basic tickets via klook so there was some slight discount, but it was really hard to utilize the complimentary food and retail vouchers. The food kiosk lacks mains and basically serve light snacks, while the minimum spending for the retail voucher was set too high in my opinion.

Nonetheless, I think everyone should go to the Oceanarium at least once. There are some sea creatures which i don't really think is featured elsewhere such as the axolotl (a crowd favourite), skeleton fishes and deep sea creatures etc.  The sharks, dolphins and manta ray arena, honestly were not featured as prominently as it should given how much the public loves them. Much to improve...maybe wait for a while before you visit. (shrugs)

First Time on Luge

I am sure many Singaporeans can relate. The Luge has been on Sentosa for quite a bit and I have never been on it...till now. I always had this misconception that it was very expensive and not very fun. But now that I have been on it, it is pretty thrilling and the view up on the skyride is pretty gorgeous. I was in fact more frightened than the children on the skyride because I was wearing covered slippers which could fall off (Wear appropriate footwear!) and I think I might have a slight fear of heights. My friend dropped her phone cover on the ride. >_<

There were basically 4 tracks in total and we took 2. You could control the speed of your ride. I was too chicken to go at full blast but I reckon it would be exciting to ride down that way (which my husband did). The children sat as pillion. It was pretty easy to learn and navigate the luge. Nothing to really see on the luge ride, so it is really all about the speed.

There is also the night version, but I really can't imagine how much more fun it can be (probably need to give it a try once). Now that I have taken it once, I might try it again in other countries. There is really quite a bit of appeal to it. To get the best bang for your bucks, you should just purchase the package for 4 rides. (You can pay for unlimited children pillion riders on the spot. Each additional ride would cost $10 each.)

The thing is...you won't stop at 1 and you might try the same route at different speed. I would say at least 2-3 rides before you feel "no regrets". You can also purchase photos and videos of yourself racing down. But I looked pretty crappy in them...so nope. The digital versions are not very expensive, so you might also needa race down a few times for the perfect shoot. For Singaporeans, you really needa at least try once.

Harry Potter - Visions of Magic

Visions of Magic is an exhibition people probably in the late 20s to early 40s should not miss because Harry Potter is a literature which we basically grew up with. I remember being so engrossed I missed 3 buses in a row. :'( The closest we ever got to the magic visually was through the theatre but this time we could actually immersed in it. This was mind-blowingly good even though I didn't watch the Fantastic Beast.

We went with the whole family (i.e. including the young and the old). I was initially doubtful how much my parents and kids (who are not entirely PotterHeads) would enjoy the experience. It was marketed for families and I have to say it did live up to its expectations. Magic is truly wonderous and the whole exhibition was extremely visually engaging.

Every one who entered the exhibition was given a magical wand (except the very yound). It does feel like a rite of passage to wizarding and my boy who has been an aspiring wizard (favourite costume every year is to be a witch) went wild. It doesn't take much for magic to happen. So the children did feel it was them that was the source of marvel. You could only go forward and some specific sites (which was the single source of specific events) had a tiny queue.

Even though we went on a weekend, the crowd was very well controlled and it didn't feel claustrophobic or overly packed. There was enough space for photo opportunities. My only grouse is that my own phone camera isn't that good in capturing in the dim lights. The actual experience is a lot more impressive than what you see in my photos for sure!

Apart from the exhibition, the store was also a place of marvel. The items were quite well-priced and could even be exhibits. If you had gotten your tickets via Klook (here), you can get an additional S$10 off your loots. I spent quite a bit of time just choosing and browsing. Finally settled on a magnet. The wands, jewelry and cardigan almost came home with me, just that some didn't have my sizing. :'(

There was also Butterbeer available (safe for children)! In total, I spent 2 hours in the exhibition. It feels like a tick off a bucket list because now I am part of the magic. I was initially a bit worried my parents and children might be bored, but was pleased to know that they left eager to know more about the wizarding world. They couldn't stop chattering about it. A must go for families while they are still here in Singapore!

Adventure Cove: Unique Waterpark at Sentosa Singapore

A while back, we went to Adventure Cove at Sentosa. To be very honest, I wish we did more research because we went there horribly ill-prepared. Here's some learning points from us so that you won't make the same mistake and have a bigger blast than us there.

The first thing we did pretty wrong was going in during the monsoon. The rain started and stopped (rather continuously). It was annoying when queuing and we went home with a bit of the sniffles. Oops. Generally, if there isn't any lightning, the rides go on. There were 8-9 rides within, because of the rain, there were lesser people than usual. We managed to take everything, some even twice!

The gravest mistake was forgetting to bring our waterproof phone pouches along. That explains the lack of photos. You could purchase them from their souvenir shop but it was exorbitant. Basically, everything was ridiculously pricey in their shop. We spent the whole day inside. Initially, I thought we could lunch within since the price was seemingly reasonable. But you know what, the food quality was depressing. Eat your lunch before entering!

Another expensive service we note was their lockers. Thankfully, we travelled light and had a stroller for us to dump our worthless belongings. Children under the age of 4 had free entrances because they could barely take most of the thrilling rides. Would suggest to focus on the wave pool and the treehouse-cum-slide. They spent most of their time in the 2.

Generally, I thought all the rides were pretty fun. My favourites being the Riptide Rocket, Spiral Washout and Rainbow Reef. Rainbow Reef was basically a snorkeling experience and it is the most unique for a water themepark. My regret was not being able to capture the scene I saw to share with you guys. It was breathtaking. I went twice.

Definitely not ruling out a second time there, but next time we will probably go up close with the rays, dolphins and sharks when the children are older. Personally, I thought the price was pretty reasonable (~less than S$40 for an adult ticket), which can go even cheaper when bundled with other promotions.

Food and Activities within Sentosa (Outside of the hotel)

Honestly, initially I did feel that Sentosa is quite a captive market. I did bear a bit of grudge when I noticed the hotel buses usually skip the lunch/ dinner rides. (The thought dissipated when I realised how close we were to the monorail.) I thought they wanted to strand us within their compound for a meal, which was terrible. I naturally assumed the hotel food was overpriced and disgusting. With me having dietary restrictions, this sounded quite a bit of a nightmare.

In terms of food option, the Mess Hall had quite a bit of variety. It was like the next buidling to Village Hotel Sentosa, making it a very convenient choice. On the first day, we enjoyed Le Faubourg, which serves very affordable French brunch. We were attracted to it because it had a cute seating area in the outdoors for the kids. My son pretty much sat there (with occassional visits to ours) throughout the meal.

My parents chose to sit indoors to enjoy their brunch platter (Sorry, forgot to take photos!) Overall, I would describe it as Cafe food (a bit more unique because of the French twist to it). If you are a points person, you can accmulate points on both your Far East app and Sentosa Islander Membership. :)

As we were so close to the monorail, we ventured out already on the first night to VivoCity. Do try to go out early because some of the restaurants were full/ not accepting more diners by the time we reach there. Fortunately, I was a high-rolling spending member with Elemen and they made an exception for me. By the way, Elemen serve delicious and exquisite Vegetarian food in the format of courses. You will definitely be wowed on your first visit.

If you ever step into VivoCity, you should check out my favourite soya milk place too - Chinese Tofu Magician. Every time I am there, I never fail to buy a cup to enjoy! I think it is really good but my family is not particularly keen in it.

If you don't want to travel out of the island, there is also quite a decent food selection near USS area (near the monorail station). We had our first taste of Duckland, and dang the food was really good. The ribs were really tender and the duck was super yummy! I saw most diners ordering the fried rice as well, but that too much for us 2. Too bad the nearest outlet to me is the one at Resort World Sentosa. :'(

The good thing about dining at USS is the shops around it. The price has been adjusted to be more local-friendly and  I ended up shopping at Lego and Candylicious. We also took some silly tourist shots because for a while I forgot I wasa just in Singapore. Haha!

If you are not into shopping, you can also check out the manmade beaches at Sentosa. The beach is still as clean as ever and is not as crowded as pre-Covid times. I am no beach person but we decided to bring our LO there to re-introduce him to the beach. We also found some of our old beach tools so that he can build some structures in the sand.

Despite the effort, he still hates the sand, but hey we found a seashell! Hope this post helps you guys if you plan to visit Sentosa (even as a parent) Hehe.

Trick Eye Museum - Siloso Beach

Have to be frank, the only reason why we were even here was because my friend had complimentary tickets and we sort of thought Trick Eye Museum was still in its old destination - close to USS. Somehow, Sentosa has moved all its "more boring" attractions according to me and my friends to an ulu area at the far flung end of Siloso Beach.

Each ticket cost about S$25 per adult and my kiddo (who is less than 3 years old) had free entrance. The husband and I brought our stroller along and because we didn't know the change of location was so inconvenient, we didn't take a taxi in (big mistake!) We ended up being an hour late and it doesn't help that most of the lifts/ ramps were closed so we struggled to bring our well-stocked stroller up certain steps.

The museum is pretty much split into 4 arenas. Quite honestly, my friends and us had more fun watching my kid ran around the empty space. Thank god, he had enough decency not to hijack other photos. Personally, I felt that this new space though spacious seem to hold lesser exhibits. (You can read my old reviews here.)

Trick Eye also explored 4D animation this time round. My friends tried it out and it seems like it is not the most intuitive to use. We had one video which "erm" my friends didn't really direct haha. We were quite lucky it came out funny. I think if you want good photos/ videos, you totally need to go with dramatic people who love to post on their IG. (Obviously my friends ain't those people. Hehe)

My friends jokingly commented that it was so difficult to film a moving toddler and how the f did I catch these photos of my son? The trick, my fellow readers is to take continuously and numerous photos if you are a beginner. For me, I more or less know my kid's pattern. So when I cue him to smile or pose, he actually does it. Budding supermodel or what, so it makes life easier for me.

Nonetheless, you still can't really control where they stand or what he chooses to do. For the swan exhibit, he thought it was more fun to climb in and out and hide in a corner. So I guess it is free for these kids because you just can't enjoy the full experience when you are lugging one along. Here's more photos for the memories.

Touring SG: S.E.A Aquarium

Since my last post, it seems that many of you readers were rather surprised I have a life in Singapore. Lol! Too much holiday post that you guys that I do nothing in my weekends apart from churning posts (which is kinda of true) Haha.

Just to share, I actually went to Sentosa S.E.A Aquarium. It is not my first time there. The last time I was there was 6 years back OMG. (See post here!) There was quite a bit of change in the The Maritime Experimential Museum, but the aquarium was pretty much the same.

Definitely cooler than the last time I was there, there was a lot more to see. More information to read and learn about the maritime world. I love that it is quite futuristics with quite a bit hologram used. :P

There were quite a bit of hand-on activities as well and the place is quite well decorated. Unfortunately, this means you have to pay to enter the The Maritime Experimential Museum. I guess unless you have a passion for marine stuff, you could totally give this a pass. :P

6 years ago, I went to the S.E.A Aquarium with the BF. Fast forward now, he has been upgraded to a husband. And we are here with his parents. It is still a very pretty aquarium but it is very, very crowded. And I really, really don't like being pushed and squeezed around.

Tourist, locals, if you are considering coming here (which you should), avoid weekends at all cost. It is nosier, more expensive and extremely crowded. Come on a weekday instead, it is a better bang for your bucks.

Quick Update: Fun Fest 2019

Found some of this photos in my phone and decided to do a short post on it. Was at Sentosa on the first day Fun Fest was launched so some of the free activities were not yet available. Every year, Sentosa will have a Fun Fest during the school holidays and it is free for all (Hurray)!

The theme for each year is different and this year it was the Sanrio characters. I am quite a fan of them but I didn't exactly go there for it. I just happened to be there and my friend told me to check it out since I was there! Hahaha!

For a young adult (without kids), there isn't much to do. I mean I don't really wanna rough it out with some of the kids on the float castles and all. And part of me was really scared I might break the floats with my weight. But I could see the kids had a lot of good fun there (drain their energy) hehe. There was even a foam gun!

It was really crowded there, so it was quite difficult to take clear shots. Had a nice walk there, but that's basically it. Probably won't be going all the way there unless I have a kid or if they have food stalls the next time round. But for tourists etc., Fun Fest should be quite good for your gram. :P

4D Adventureland

Today was an extraordinarily fun day. :) I think maybe cos I was sickly for so long. A long outing out this just seems so exhilarating in comparison. It was dreary raining day today. Dashed off to the 4D Adventureland early in the morning cos we had free tickets :) :) :)
Online, there are pretty much mixed reviews. I did think that anyone with motion sickness would absolutely puke through the rides. But if the BF survived it without a green face, I am pretty sure anyone could.
4D adventure
Because the BF was utterly convinced that it was not value for money, we did not top up for "Pirates". We just went on the typical 3 unlimited rides. Plus the place was not as well-maintained as the rest of Sentosa, which shouldn't be the case. So it doesn't really give you the confidence to upgrade your tickets.
1. Desperados
Believe it or not, I went on the ride 4 times. Lol! Cos it was pretty fun and it had a show every 5 minutes. Plus my Mum wanted to get into the list of top shooters before we could leave. Actually, BF, Bro and I are always in the top few. BF is always 1 rank behind me. No one can come between us. LOLOL! That's how tight we are. But it is really the most addictive ride there. And seats does somewhat matter although technique is definitely more important.
2. Extreme Log Ride
The first time I took it, I was really far from the screen. I had no idea why people were even screaming. The second round, I took the first row centre seats, and I started yelping. My whole impression of the ride changed. It is so much more exciting if you are right in front cos your vision is not obscured. Everything is just more realistic. Not much of a storyline, but you are being tossed and turned everywhere. I think if 4D effects were thrown into this ride, it would have been my immediate favourite. So, remember, pick a good seat.
3. Journey 2
Most online reviews said this was the best, because it had the most effects. You could smell stuff; you felt this and that. It had a star-studded cast. But it was pretty much like Shrek from USS. Not that special, that's my verdict. I think why everyone raves about it simply because the seats just doesn't matter. If you didn't get good experiences on the 2 rides, Journey 2 becomes fantastic in comparison.
Sheriff
Overall, I still think 4D Adventureland is kinda of expensive if you compare it to S.E.A Aquarium, which is much cheaper and more impressive. The queues are longer than the rides, that explains the ridiculous selfies I do to entertain myself. But everything in Sentosa is expensive, so well maybe for a tourist, it is worth it.
The rides made my tummy the right side up,so that was great. At least I don't have to rush home halfway. And I am convinced that I am an ace shooter and in times of war, I will 代(夫)从军! (Mulan Joke)

Saving Christmas

Merry Xmas
I guess it was a rather emotional post so many people were worried about my thoughts on Xmas. I still like Christmas. Presents, Lightings and opportunities to take lots of pretty photos. No reason not to continue enjoying it. Hehe. :)
Play Tent
Sharing some photos from Play Tent at Sentosa with its oversized inflatable balloons. Not as impressive as they promised and it was a warm day. All I had were some nice photos and a very very grumpy BF. Not really worth the trip. But I did like the photos taken. :)
Garden By the Bay
The photos from the day of heartbreak. (Just 2?!? That's totally not worth it!) I know whatya thinking. There were more photos, but these was the nicer 2 granduer lightings on the outside. The others weren't fantastic. But these 2 were even though in my photos, they look rather meh. I was feeling crap and it was reflecting in my shots . :(
Yacht
This X'mas week many of my friends got hitched. So it was really very busy for me. I also had a lot of gatherings. Not going to post the photos up, cos it would take too much work to blank their faces out. Haha. This is still not a personal blog after all. I try to keep it professional :P
The photos above are from Sentosa Cove, nice right? LIKE LIKE LIKE! It was so hard to find, but gorgeous scenery, so I thought I would share them with you readers. It was drizzling like mad the whole day. So sorry, can't really take much pictures :(
Xmas Tree
Yea, and my favourite - the tree all light up with presents underneath. I guess I am still bearing a grudge against my BF since I made him a snowman. Serves him right! Can't wait for 2015 already. 2014 is just a pain. Phat!

Super Heroes Unite: Mount Faber Peak

From 31 May 2014 till March next year, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern have identified our Singapore Cable Car as the perfect vehicle to combat evil that lurks in the sky and save the day!
IMG_3556
As part of their 40th Anniversary celebrations, Singapore Cable Car has presented us with a new "joy-ride" experience, using in-cabin Augmented Reality (AR) technology to bring out the characters and missions to life. This is the first ever in Asia!
Bless my lucky stars, my brother and I are going to be sidekicks and help protect the world from the bad, evil and unkind!
Fly With The Super Heroes
The day started with an overcast sky, shrouded in dark evil probably. My brother and I made our way up to the peak to receive our orders in the "normal" cable car. Well, we don't everyone to know that we are sidekicks do we? *winks*
Yup, just for information sake, not all the cable cars are decorated with the superhero themes (only 45!), giving riders the option to pick and choose. And yes, if you are taking the theme rides, it would come at a slight premium.
Spuds and Aprons
Our Mission Centre was at Spuds & Aprons where we were supposed to design our superhero capes. However, the 2 siblings are not exactly the brightest sparks on the universe so we got ourselves a little lost and were late. :(
We didn't really had a chance to dig in our energy food and make our costumes cos we didn't want to be left behind and miss out on the butt-kicking actions. We were given felt cloths, superglue and markers to bring home though. Anyway, the view up there is gorgeous. It was almost like the view at Salt Grill & Sky Bar. So pretty!
SideKick Fame
While waiting for our cool ride, we walked around taking pictures :) As it was still drizzling, we were restricted to the sheltered areas. But the photo spots are plentiful!
Excitement level: 10/10
As we prepared to board, we tried out our masks (Each cable car ticket would come with 4 Super Heroes Mask as well as a souvenir booklet)
Batman Green LanternWe had the options to pick our rides. Our first ride was Green Lantern and the second ride was Batman. Stepping inside the themed cabin, we were welcomed by the graphic wraps in both the interior and exterior of the cabins. As contrast to our earlier ride, it just had flowers hung around the edges.
This collage contains a mixture of the first and second rides. So please don't be too confused :) It is really easy to activate the characters. You just have to download the "Flying with Super Heroes" App on your phone. Just take a shot of the AR marker in the cabin and you will unlock the superhero. Next thing you know, there will be action all around the cabin.
Green LanternI wouldn't exactly say it is the most friendly app to use. The AR was at fixed position so you pretty much had to move yourself to fit in the heroes. Sometimes you would appear too big beside the heroes. Other times, you just look odd.
It helps that the motions are the same, so after a while you pretty much figure out where the heroes will be popping out. During my first ride, a family boarded our cabin halfway. And it was just awkward~~~We stopped taking any photos. So yea, try to have a cabin to yourself.
The punch
There was definitely some moments of frustration as we tried our best to be useful sidekicks. My brother punched the Green Lantern in fury LOL!
But thankfully, the organiser managed to advise us on better ways to use the App and we went on round 2 with Batman which I think we managed to capture better shots. The app comes with cropping action as well as stickers. However do take in landscape so that you can insert them in the right orientation. We had a few portrait shots...Sigh...
Batman
Guess Batman was a better boss LOL! I was kinda worried about the privacy issues. But phew, no one else have access to the photos. They are safe in the App. You could also take videos too. I tried. But I can't find the video now...lol...
My brother graded Round 1: 8/10 and Round 2: 6/10. The appeal decreased with each ride cos basically there isn't much you can do on one ride apart from snapping photos. For those who are keen on riding the different themes, you can do it at an additional $10 fee, which is pretty reasonable in my opinion.
View Up ThereI do think if you are visiting Sentosa, do consider taking the themed cable car in!
Adult: S$29
Child: S$18
Definitely suitable for outings with friends, family and lover <3
See You ThereGuess the day is saved by the Sibling Duo. See you there! And thank you Fiona and Fulvia for the invites. :)
