Scentopia Orchard

Not sure if any of you is aware, but Scentopia open an outlet at Scape Orchard. It is more of a pop-up style and is not as poshed as what you see at Sentosa. (Reader's Tip: For the price-conscious, it is cheaper for the experiences at Orchard Scentopia.)Many of you would have known this perfume-making place as the go-to for girls day out or Hen Party activities, but this was a surprisingly awesome family event with my kids. Don't say boys won't love it, cos even my husband/son enjoyed the experience.

Just to caveat, my children love spraying my perfume on themselves...and it ain't cheap per spray. So I thought why not let them make their own scent so that they would leave mine alone. Given that it is a very sensory experience, you really need to sniff quite a lot of different scents. Children who have an overly sensitive nose should avoid this. We split ourselves to Team Girl and Team Boy. 

You basically start off with an online questionnaire about your personality and that would let you know the type of scents you are likely to prefer. It is categorised to Citrus, Fresh, Floral, Woody and Oriental. You are allowed to pick 10 different scents. Based on your personality, you might get to choose 3 Citrus, 4 Floral, 2 Woody, 1 Oriental and 0 Fresh from each catergory.

Each category has 30 scents which is further split for the respective genders and unisex. I always thought I am easy-going when it comes to scent. Guess I was wrong? There were some that made me wanted to puke, but my son loved it. Honestly, between me and you, I didn't really like what the men made and so did my daughter. Guess there is really what we call gender difference when it came to this. Haha.

We went through within the process within 40 minutes and the kids got to experience how perfume was made. It can be faster depending on how decisive you are. If your child is more than 8 years old, they would need their own tickets. (Reader's Tip: This is a perfect 7yo birthday activity!)

For SGD80 per parent-child pair, it is still pretty worth it since you get to bring a customised bottle of 50ml perfume home. It is definitely more economical go go for the 100ml bottle. But I just didn't want so much for them since there is limited occasions they could spray on themselves. 

Trying to be Cultured: All about Impressionism

In a bid to be more cultured, we made our way to the National Gallery to catch the largest French Impressionist Exhibition in collaboration with Museum of Fine Arts Boston. To be frank, before going, I don't even know what is Impressionism. Seeing it for myself up close, I realised I am not much of a fan. I prefer a lot more details in my art as compared to vagueness. I do agree with some art critics that some pieces look so much more like sketches than complete pieces.  

In the past, I have only heard of Monet. But interestingly, after seeing his works, I am a bigger admirer of Daubigny and his sea/ ship/ port pieces. I absolutely hated Renoir's masterpiece. Haha. I just didn't like the fused, unrealistic portraits. Though the style was distinct, I felt some were borderline sloppy. And the "anime" eyes just didn't sit well with me. 

If there is one thing I learn about art, it is that beauty truly lies in the eyes of the beholder. Comments by other attendees sometimes amuse me. There was a lady who was gushing over a piece of art which I totally hated. Lol. Apart from Monet, you will get to explore some of the iconic works by other artists such as Manet, Degas etc. Although I am in no way trained in art, you can still kinda realise that some "water", "peaches' and "roses' etc. are better drawn than the rest. 

A guided tour (or bringing a friend who is into art) isn't a bad idea if you are not into self-exploration/ self-realisation. A blind following the crowd, some of the appreciation techniques I have learnt include seeing the art up close, from the side and afar to notice the paint strokes and layering to create different effects. It is also interesting to notice the colour palette use to create different effects (i.e. some artist would use pink instead of white for water/ clouds).

Overall, I would still recommend making a trip down because it is not everyday we get to experience such masterpieces conveniently. For once, you don't have to travel to Europe etc. just to get to see these. Also, it is priced so affordably to encourage local attendance. It will only be in town from 14 Nov 25 to 1 Mar 26. Golden Village Gold Class Experience

 

With 2 kids in the tow, it is getting hard to go on a date. So when we do go on while, sometimes we splurge. Quite honestly, every time we go for the movies, we have started to indulge ourselves in the premium seatings. One interesting thing though is I have never tried the Gold Class experience. This was a gift (otherwise we would have to our usual haunt instead) and OMG I absolutely enjoyed it. I think their seats/ exclusiveness etc. might be the best we have experienced to date. 

It also does help that I was watching "How to make Millions before Grandma dies" so I had a lot of privacy to cry from start to end. FYI, I even cried while watching the trailers LOL! Ending up buying an e-deal. 4 movies for $38. It is pretty worth it, just that I haven't quite figured out how the black out dates work. You can use for this movie though, for those who are keen here's the trailer.

   

The Fourth Trimester

To refresh our memories of the "painful fourth trimester", the Hubs and I took the opportunity to watch a play by the Checkpoint Theatre. Personally, I felt the most painful trimester was the fourth - the confinement, the continuous sweating from the confinement food (which was missed out in the play, haha) and the breastfeeding (gosh I hated it and it went on for 10 months). Lack of sleep and the changes in the body was also pretty difficult to bear. 

Interestingly, now that the little one is nearing 2, I have pretty much forgotten these dark days and the play sort of reminded me what was coming (again). The script is highly relatable at so many points and the strong cast managed to bring out quite a bit of emotions in me. I did sniffle at a few parts because it did feel like we were looking at our own story.

If you are a parent yourself, you will know that no birth story is the same. However, they tend to share a lot of similarities which is why women bond when they talk about pregnancy, childbirth and their kids. The stage and props was also very realistically set up. The never-ending laundry that is waiting to be folded (still the case) just triggered me somehow. There was a point I had an urge to storm on stage to fold them. LOL!

The Hubs, I have to say, probably educated himself very well during the first pregnancy - pointing out the Spectra to me and even commenting on some baby's gear such as the rocker, white noise soother which could have the made the screen parents life easier. Did I say maybe he had a bit of guilt too because he even offered to help out a lot more at home after watching the play!

The show was truly quite an enjoyable watch for us and we would recommend to all parents/ parents to-be if you would like a teaser of what is to come. The show was slightly longer than what we preferred because it touched base on too much scenarios and thought maybe 2 of ladies' characters could be combined into 1. 

The play is showing until 14th Aug and the price range between $40 to $80. If you have passion card (which I have cos it always give great discounts), you can get 10% off your tickets! 

Eagle Wings Cinematics Experience

We haven't exactly been to the movies much ever since we subscribed to Disney+ and Covid struck. Even when we did go to the cinemas, we always went for the premium experience for the cushy and spacious chairs. Call me spoilt, but I don't think we can go back to enjoying the normal cinematic experience. 

Since we celebrating the husband's belated birthday, he asked for something different so we decided to venture out to Eagle Wings Cinematics to experience their Gold Class and Premium Lounge. I did a bit of research to get the best bang for my bucks. 

1. Free Access to Lounge (for 2 hours): So if you get the Silver or Gold class tickets, you automatically get access to it for 2 hours before the movie starts. It does with the perks. We came 1.5 hours ahead because we wanted to have lunch and tried out their food. But from observation, other patrons came about 0.5h - 1h ahead. Guess you can call us kiasu. 


2. Free flow of drinks: Yes, this is still true. And we have verified that you can refill during the movie too though I doubt many would do that intentionally. The soft drinks dispenser had a lot of interesting flavours but I preferred the hot drink selection. In fact, I am now in love with the Super Tea Infusions Series. 


3. There is a massage chair (2 in fact): Ok, we admit we sort of came early cos we wanted to try it out. But boo, it sucks. The strength of the massage was too weak. Good thing we didn't buy this model for our home. 





4. There is 10% off the food: This was also why we wanted to try out the food (See menu here). No regrets cos it is really good. In fact, we were quite full, we had to give up finger food. We had:


• Lobster Bisque ($12): It was really good and came with lobster chunks. My photos don't look fancy because I customised to remove the cream. 


• Curry Katsu Don ($17): It is delicious but not mind-blowing. It is not my usual choice of food, but my choice is kinda limited because of my current dietary restrictions. 


• Truffled Black Beard Pasta ($18): This was the best dish ordered. Would recommend totally going there just for this again. It was very unique and I am pretty sure I never tasted anything similar elsewhere.





5. Ordering food is difficult: It is quite stupid. They made us order through an app and you had to fill in your credit card details etc. Am not sure how that would work in the cinema. Maybe you are supposed to order ahead so as not to distract yourself from the show. 


6. The theatre was not lighted before the movie: This is one of my biggest grouse. Cos I am vulnerable and clumsy now. I hate anything that make mobility even harder. 


7. There is no charging port in the cinema: Some of the reviews claimed that there is a charging port but I never found it, not that it will make or break the experience. LOL! I am just aunty. 

Ending the post with a yummy Curry Yong Tau Fu I found at a shopping centre across the street (forgot the name of it.)

Yawn Gai Gai: 2019 SGCC

It has been 4 long years since I came for the SGCC (now it isn't even called the STGCC). And dang the FOMO in me can't hep but wonder how much have I missed up. Cos I feel that SGCC seems so much more intriguing. There seems to be something for everyone. Even if it is not your thing, there is someone out there who is hooked onto it.

Apart from cosplay, artist alley and autograph sessions with comic illustrators, I was quite surprised to see 25% of the area filled with board/ card games. There was also a wrestling arena! It was quite an eye-opener, but quite frankly it is really not my thing. The geek in me hurriedly took refuge at the artist alley haha.

Whichever year it is, the story is more or less the same for me. There is always so much to see and even more to spend. Quick tips from the veteran - Always bring cash! Trust me, you will always end up spending more than what you initally intended. Also, always do a quick exploration of the place. You really want to find out fast what are the things you really wanna do and the stuff you really wanna buy so that you can better prioritise your time and money.

This year, I felt that there was a lot more activities, some of them free. I spotted a few booths selling photos with cosplayers. But none beat the model painting activity. I had quite a bit of fun and headache concentrating. I had to queue really long for it but it was worth the wait and I think I might have picked up a new interest along the way.

This year, there was definitely a lot more fringe activies and hot deals lying around. Book Depository was there and I ended up buying quite a few books for the bookworm at home. I mean there was some great discounts and a Lying Cat toy. So why not right? In addition, I also signed up for a free credit card and walked away with free vouchers. Not too bad a recoup.

Now that I am a bit older, I also have a bit more to spend. Hehe...if you are a loyal reader and wanna send me some fan gifts. Pss...I love mystery boxes. I had quite a bit of a love-hate relationship with PopMart.They had so many series, it was really difficult to settle for one without breaking my wallet. In the end, I chose Pucky because she had this fantasy, innocent charm. <3

Being surrounded around toys made me realise one thing - I should really have a kid soon if I want to have a good excuse to stock up endless lego and toys. :P Also, it would give me a legitimate reason to play without appearing too childish. On a side-note for new "comiconers", set aside at least a day for it and go with friends. Toys are not meant to be appreciated or enjoyed alone!~!

Yawn Gai Gai: Bubble Tea Factory

 After surviving my tour at The Bubble Tea Factory, I feel obliged to set you guys expectations right and to advise you girls on who to bring on this journey. Given that each ticket cost rought S$20 odd plus (not cheap you know!), it is imperative that the right people are there. I bought the Hubs and *look right and left furgitatvely before I badmouth him*, he is definitely the wrong person for the occassion.

1. Bring a photographer or a friend who is at least good at helping you take selfies. You definitely need somebody who has an eye for angles and take quick shots because it is really quite paiseh to hog the place. Don't go alone! There are staff around to help you take photos, but ahem, not all of them have good photography skills to boast off. 


2. Have patient company! This is the time to unleash the girlfriends. Honestly, I saw some males (my Hubs included) looking so bored dazing into the thin air. And it irks me. If you want good vibes for the day, bring the girls out or at least bring a guy who is interested. 


3. Don't be paiseh! Honestly, I don't know how some of the girls do it. But they can hog the place as though it is their own photo studio. Admittedly, this is how gorgeous photos are born (I peeped at a few camera screens to verify.) Queueing behind them, I swear my eyes glazed by the time it was my turn, oops, I haven quite snapped out so I looked like a lifeless zombie in some of my photos. Yikes, just like that I missed my moment :'(





4. Wear comfy clothes! I was in my lounge pants from Coralist Swimwear, which comes in a set along with a top which I wore to Coney Island (Read the post here!) There is quite a bit of climbing and navigating on the sets, so don't wear a skirt or anything that is revealing. Don't bring too much stuff around too, otherwise you would have to lounge them around every photo spot. 


5. Bring your best camera/ phone that can own the night. The lighting can be qiute dim at some places. If you are using apps to make your photographs look better, be sure to bring a power bank. The last thing you want is to have a phone that you can't use.


6. Don't be too adventurous! Every ticket comes with a free bubbletea drink which you can customised. Hmm...the Hub went for a safer route and it was quite yummy. I broke all rules and might have created a disturbing concoction...yikes!

I wished The Bubble Tea Factory could have marked out the position where the best photo angles can be captured so that some girls wouldn't have the excuse to overstay their welcome at each spot. There were collectible and action cards given but everyone was just too obsessed with themselves to even bother about the other groups around them (FYI, I am sure no other influencer would mention this fun fact to you. If you look up, you would notice that the tubes are painted in specific colours to match the theme and there are labels of BBT on top.)

The Bubble Tea Factory, has been extended till January. For BBT lovers or those who like to experience, I would say go for it. The team did quite detailed touches around the place so don't go all out for the gram. Look around you more and I am sure you will gain a lot more joy in your Bubbletea journey. Hopefully, my tips help. Have fun girls!

Exploration: Coney Island

A part of me feels so liberated. It is as though I have finally got a life. :) Since the Hubs was also free, we finally or maybe more like I finally decided to let him have his way and do something more strenuous and sporty. And off we went to Coney Island. If you are Singaporean, you probably would have ventured to Coney Island by now. Otherwise, you really also a bit no-life like me.

We did read a bit of influencers' guide before making our way down that day. But annoyingly, I can't seem to find all the nice photo spots. And so, we just roamed around and made do with what we found. The cycling route is quite straight-forward so I am pretty sure whatever scenic spots  (i.e. Secret Haw Par Villa) must be quite off the beaten track.

During the last few days, it was raining cats and dogs. I did feel a bit like it is God's plan for me to be there - fabulous hair, fine weather, cute bike, cheap food. :D We went on a weekday to attempt to beat the crowd. We intended to have our meal at Punggol Settlement. But dang, everything looked close. Heng, we managed to find food at Fusion Kitchen and Bar. And you know what, there was 1-for-1 too. In addition, we also got a free singing session, wow!

Because it was the weekday, there was an extra hour free for the 2-hours bicycle rental. In total, I only took about 2.5 hours but that was very, very leisure. Hehe. You probably can do it faster if you don't stop for photos. There isn't much rustic looking bicycles like mine, so go early! And I am so happy my lounge top from Coralist Swimwear looked pretty dope in this pairing. (Will be doing another separate post on their collection, so keep a lookout if you are missing the LOTD already.)

We did a whole complete loop so we also got to explore the Lorong Halus Wetland and Punggol Waterway. My overall feel is that this is quite a good area to unplug from the bustling city. It can be quite a good retirement area. But I definitely don't want my house to be here for now, it is so darn far from town and basically anything!

By the way for dinner plans, avoid Punngol East Container Park. We went there thinking it was cool and all. But the variety of food selection was so little. It is just western food and more western food. And the sales people were all kinda of pushy. I don't really like the vibe so I grumbled and left. It would have been perfect if it wasn't my crappy experience at Punngol East Container Park. I am having a lot more life lately, so there will be more posts on interesting places.

Funky Find: Fresh Produce at Lim Chu Kang

Feeling quite like a tourist in my own country, my family went for a tiny road trip to Lim Chu Kang for our marketing needs. Far away from the bustling city, I felt like I was tossed into some rural areas. Along the way, we also passed by many cemeteries. But it wasn't very eerie cos the sun was bright and cheery. 

Not the most convenient place in Singapore, there was only one bus route. Along our way to Kin Yan, I was praying rather hard for our car to not break down on this god forsaken place. Hehe. Sounds pretty much like a first world problem, heh. 

For all you readers who are into organic food, Kin Yan is a pesticide free farm. You can find quite a bit of fresh produce at a fraction of the sales price if you have the patient to make a trip in. Honestly, apart from the long journey, Kin Yan is quite an interesting place to visit. You can check out the farm where mushrooms, wheat and some vegetable are grown. 

For me, the most interesting find was the black chicken. I never knew it had such fluffy feathers <3 Apart from the local produce, you can find tonics from Hock Hua (heard they were affiliated). There is also wheat ice-cream, pure wheat juice and mushroom soup for sampling. There are also DIY growing kits available. Personally, I would really recommend grabbing the mushroom soup and their fresh produce home (it is really fresh and yummy!) Note: You can get free delivery if you buy S$100 of their produce!

Since we made such a far trip, we went all out and also visited the weekend market at Kok Fah. Comparatively, Kok Fah had a tiny crowd. My father got all excited seeing the endless rows of vegetables. According to our house-chef, the price of the vegetables was not that competitive. But it was definitely much fresher than the products you can find even at the wet market. 

My brother and I were more interested in the side activities. I had quite a good time observing the turkey (first time seeing one in my life OMG), frogs and terrapins. There was also a pond full of aggressive koi fish swarming to be fed. Personally, my interest lie more in the plants. I spent most of the time exploring the vegetation available for sales haha. We didn't buy anything but I think I more or less had a sense of what I wanted to grow in my mini garden once our house arrive. 

Although my brother and I are no kids, we nonetheless had quite a bit of fun at the weekend market. I would definitely recommend this to families with your kids. While the kids wander about, you can also do some grocery shopping. Feels like a good deal if you ask me. And it is also a pet friendly place, we caught quite a bit of cute, friendly dogs sniffing around <3 

Will probably be back again once our house arrive and maybe again when we have a little one...It is quite a long ride for us, but I think it is definitely worth the time :D

Event Update: Bubble Tea Factory

This is possibly one of the most exciting event in the last quarter of the year and I can't wait to share with more about it with you. Your eyes didn't play any tricks on you. It is really the Bubble Tea Factory. Being quite a fan of this sweet thirst quencher, this is one journey that I cannot miss.

This exhibition consist of 10 playful and visually spectacular installations, inspired by the ingredients of bubble-tea. Each showcase is designed to enthrall the min and excite the sense of the participants. Pss...it comes with some limited edition Boba booster pack cards and a drink at the end of the journey!

This happy place will be open from 19 October to 18 December 2019, from 4pm to 10pm on weekdays, and 10am to 10pm on weekends. Tickets are available from 19 September at 10am, via official ticketing partner Eventbrite and cost $24 (weekday) and $28 (weekend). As part of an opening special, tickets will cost $18 (weekday) and $23 (weekend).

Alternatively, you could always wait for my thorough review of the place (keep a lookout of it) although this would mean you will miss the opening special discount. Whatever suits your boba, I can't wait for 19 October already!!! Maybe Oct should be my favourite month...

Funky Find: Sandbox VR

Part of my personal joy in setting up this space is sharing with you guys a thrill in town that taps upon cutting edge technology. Okay, what I am going to introduce you have been here for quite a while. By now, I can safely assure you the technology is quite developed and you will be able to fully enjoy the experience.

Intrigued by the introductory video? It is not made by me la. For all participants, Sandbox VR will collate your very own bragging video. And it is not just one, but two videos. After my game, I shamelessly spammed every group chat my videos. I had so much fun, I just had to broadcast this.

There are currently 3 games available at Sandbox VR. The Hub and I picked Amber Sky which is pretty much space warriors defending the Earth from Aliens. I screamed quite a bit in the game because I am that sort of people that get sucked in. The staff at Sandbox VR helped filmed us while we were playing. And I am embarrassed to say I just talked non-stop throughout...lol hence not all footage can be used. HAHAHA!

If you don't flying bugs and ugly aliens, there are 4 other game options to pick. Personally, despite all my yelling and over-engagement in the game, I think scary games are the BEST cos you just break free. And the things your friends would do to survive...unimaginable. Lol, for me, I just holler non-stop as if I could kill things with my voice. :P

Just to share a little more on the procedure. Everything happens in this green room. All we have to do is suit up and tie the motion sensors on our limbs and we are ready to go. If you are competitive, tie the sensors tightly cos mine got loose halfway and I had problems activating my shield. Hence, there were times I looked like I was swatting flies -_-"'

The gear is actually quite heavy. But once you are in the game, you forget about the load. Hehe. I had quite a good workout and broke out in a bit of sweat (nope, is not just cos of fear la). Do wear loose fitting clothes so that you won't feel overly restrictive. And don't worry if you wear specs, cos they provide lens for the game. *Thumbs up*

Be prepared...after the session, you may lose all your friends and maybe even lover. This was me boasting to the Hub that I am an experienced gamer before the game started. FYI, my accuracy was lesser than 40%. Hahaha. My Hub keep asking me what I was doing in the game. I was ermm...commenting on everything I saw...shooting at him for fun...and I shot the commander a few times cos he scared me. Oops.

I also sort of enjoy rotating my head round and round. So sometimes, things will seemingly appear from nowhere very suddenly. In retrospect, it is more of my extreme swerving and darting. Lol. Wonderland: Another exhibition at Artscience Museum

There has been quite a hype on this exhibition, Wonderland at ArtScience Museum already. In case you haven't been there yet, I thought it might be useful to let you guys know that this is not an Alice-in-Wonderland sort of exhibition. Be prepared to tumble down the rabbit hole and go through the film-making process of Wonderland.

The whole exhibition is very interactive, however it may not be entirely suitable for the your kids. I just don't think they are at the age where they can appreciate the props, sketches and background tidbits of Alice. And to be frank, not all the adults could fully appreciate it too...(heard a guy behind muttering this is truly a riddle and he has no clue what is going on...lol)

I think it is really about your expectations, because to be fair, I too expected a Disney experience and less so on the evolutions of Alice. But this exhibition did spark my interest in Lewis Caroll. I even bought an original book *giggles*. I googled quite a bit on Alice's quotes and am just quite fascinated how much truth these seemingly frivolous quotes hold. Here's a few of my favourite:

'I don't much care where -' said Alice.
'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.

I won the poll by the way, just saying. Personally, I don't really find this exhibition worthy of the typical insta-hype. But if you are keen to learn more about Lewis Carroll and the tale behind the tale (love this self-made riddle), then you have to pop down for a visit! Floating Utopias: One of a kind exhibition

My family was feeling quite refined weekend and so we popped by the ArtScience Museum to check out one of the exhibition - Floating Utopias. This is quite a specialised exhibition, depicting inflatable object and its history. I guess compared to the other exhibition, this is not the most interactive.

But you take away quite a bit new info (because who really reads up about hot-air balloons etc. in their free time). And personally, I thought the pieces which was displayed there was quite intriguing. It did feel like some creative parts of my brain was awakened. :D

If you are just there to take instagram photos, you will be pleased to know that there are a few landmark giant floats and models. Wheee~~~But if you are really an artsy fartsy, then do check out some of the interesting pictures and balloon designs. I absolutely love those! In fact those triggered quite a lot of imagination in me.

My personal favourite (and I think would be a favourite for many) is the moon. There were loungers around it and you could just lay down and enjoy the view. You just can't help but feel in awe by the beauty and realism. Yup, silly as it sound, but people around me were all raising their hands to touch the moon...the closest we would ever be...

And psss...just to share a deal, go for other exhibitions as well and you can get a better deal :) Go with your family and viola, you pay less. The other 2 exhibitions are Wonderland and Futureworld: Where Art Meets Science, which is a lot more interactive and fun for kids.

KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities is coming to Singapore

Cirque Du Soleil, possibly the most entertaining theoretical circus is coming backing to Singapore with yet another touring act in July. Kurios - Cabinet of Curiosities will be premiering under the iconic grey-and-white big top on Bayfront Avenue beside Marina Bay Sands.

Kurios - Cabinet of Curiosities is a tale in which time comes to a complete stop, transporting the audience inside a fantasy world where everything is possible. In this realm set in the latter half of the nineteenth century, be prepared to see reality transform right before your very eyes!

Fans of Cirque Du Soleil, you will be happy to know that the tickets are now available for booking! For some of you readers who are not very familiar with Cirque Du Soleil, you can hang around and wait for my review in July before purchasing the tickets. A good rule of thumb is that if you love the Greatest Showman, you are going to absolutely love this show!

Snoopy Run 2018: Running with the Peanuts Gang

Last weekend, I successfully completed the Snoopy Run! Wheee~~~ and I am proud to say for the first time in my life, I didn't stop and the only time I took a break was for water once at the water station. Timing wise, I don't think I did very well considering my Bro decided to abandon me halfway.

But I think it is a great start. It has been a long while since I have gone for a "fun run" and Snoopy Run I can assure you is an ultra family-friendly fun run. If you have not been training, you will be relieved to know that there are many human road-blocks leisurely walking so you won't be stressed!

Personally, I didn't really like the gravel trail at Bedok Reservoir cos I am too used to proper tracks and the treadmills. #spoilt But I do enjoy the nice scenery during the run. This includes wildlife, hunky dragon boaters etc. Muhahaha! For me Bedok is very out of the way, so we woke up like 6am for the run?!?

But still, I even see my friends from the West at the run. In fact, I saw a lot of familiar faces despite the crowd. Guess that's the charm of the Peanuts Gang!!! Compared to other runs, this run is quite no-frills thus it is more affordable.

But still, it did not shortchange its participants on photo moments. We ended up taking photos an hour before the run and another round of photo session after the run. The best thing is there is even a volunteer photographer at each photo spot. And they are highly professional. I think they can even take better than my Bro. My Mum was gushing over the photos we sent home. Hehe.

There were a lot of people so the queue was pretty long but because of the volunteers stationed at each photo spot, there wasn't cases of people hogging the photo spots! :P

For the run, I actually did consider running with the Snoopy Plushie, but lugging the race packs back from Plaza Sing nearly broke my arms (I collected for my bro too) so I knew if I had to run with a Plushie on my back, I am not gonna make it. And my Bro told me siao, he is not carrying excessive stuff for me.

Psss...he actually helped my carry my water bottle during the run so I can't really push my luck too much. But it was probably a good idea I didn't bring the Plushie cos I perspired a lot during the run. Hehe :) Can't wait for my next run already!!!

Walk the Dog: Run with Snoopy

I am so busy with mugging lately. (T.T) But good news is ForFunk has great content on the way. It is just that I don't have the time to pen them all down. But stay tune, cos good stuff is coming. Just received something in the mail :P

On a separate note, I am writing cos I am doing a shout-out for something that is really exciting! I grew up with this character so I really wanna share it with you guys! Snoopy and the Peanuts gang are coming to Singapore!

The last time they popped by Singapore to run with us was in 2016. So lucky us, we have a cute themed run this year. There was a point when themed run were the rage and suddenly they were all gone. Just so you know, registration is ending on 30th April, 2018. So, do act fast if you want to join the run! Click here to register!

Psss.. a 6-meter-tall-Peanuts character inflatable will also be making its debut at the run. And runners, you will get a Woodstock drawstring pack and a stylish limited gold-ink printed T- shirt! For fans who have the budget, I would really suggest to get a classic or plushie pack because it consist a greater set of collectibles -  towel, purse and even a plush doll *faints*

If you are going to, you will be seeing me there. This is the first time I am having a run at Bedok Reservoir Park so I am pretty pumped about it.

We went to Art Zoo!

Last weekend, I went to the Art Zoo. Cos I went after a slight drizzle, it was not very crowded but haix the "bouncing castles" were a little dirty :( The BF had a little bit of OCD so I didn't get the opportunity to bounce around :(

But because the weather was a bit chilly, I got to wear a my new Kitten Cropped Sweatshirt with my fav shorts from Thailand. FYI, I have like 2 of the same designs. :P

As over-sized, over-grown bouncers (who didn't bounced), I thought the entrance fees of S$17.80 was a little bit pricey. I think if I did bring my kids (if any) in, my heart would still ache a bit. But still, there were a lot of happy kids and tired parents flooding the place.

The designs of the bouncing arena was really pretty, innovative and they looked very fun. Plus with the myriad of colours, this place is awesome for the Instagram. Since I was inside already, I did what I do best, take photos and post (pose)! Hahaha.

Just in case you are wondering, my bright smiles are neither cued nor forced. The whole place is just very cheery and there is this merry song that is going on repeat. Halfway, I even found myself humming along. Geez. And I really wanted to shove some kids and bounce. (T.T)

But it is really impossible to stay more than 2 hours (even with bouncing). I really wanted to catch the night scene, I bet it has strobe lights and all. Guess it would be pretty and good for the gram. But I was hungry (no food inside by the way) and I just can't see myself wandering around for another hour before the sun sets.

So I did take some videos for the instastory, but I am not sure why it is so quality when transferred. Will I be going again in future? Eh, maybe if I have free tickets, feeling rich or have kids that I need to exhaust them?!? HAHAHA.

Hope you had fun and didn't burn your pocket too much while you were there. By the way, their souvenirs were really reasonably-priced (S$- max $10). Wish I had a pesky, crying kid to force the BF to buy some home. He refused to get me any. Sigh.
