My new Fitbit - Versa 3

I am a person who is really quite adverse to change when it comes to gadget. When my Versa 2 started showing signs of slowing, I was slowly getting a panic attack. But, I also realise the inevitable was drawing near and I upgraded myself to Versa 3. And it is wayyyyyy better. I concluded I just don't like the setting up process. But once, things are in order, I usually love the new gadget.

Quick notes on what I like to help those who are contemplating a purchase:

  • The charging wire was better designed. To be quite frank, I have already went through 2 charging wires in a span of 3+ years for my Versa 2. And it was in what we called unsafe condition, somehow the rubbers at the edge would always fray.
  • The belt is uniquely designed and surprisingly comfy. My old loop broke, but mainly due to wear and tear. But this design doesn't even have a loop.
  • The interface remains the same. But the button at the side disappeared. Took me a while to adjust to it, but I love how sleek it has become. There is also a new sleep mode, which is more intuitive in brightness adjustment etc.
  • I can now receive calls on my fitbit. How cool is that? Haha.

My First Run with my Kid

I won't really see myself as a competitive runner. But I do love running...because it is easy. You just need a pair of shoes. I get my heart rate up and I lose weight fast. I haven't been running for a while but when I saw the SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon 2023, I decided to go with my kid.

Whaattt...why are you pushing yourself so hard. Just so we are all clear, I am talking about the Families for Life 800m Challenge. You must be thinking why run with your child?

  1. I was inspired. I read an article online that the kids will feel daunted by long distances but for short distances, they will feel more confident to take up the challenges. The parent wrote about running hand-in-hand with the child to finishing line. And I wanted that experience.
  2. They are not very strict. I managed to bring 2 underaged kiddo and even a stroller along. How cool is that!
  3. You could sign up with a lot of family members with 1 slot. Even my Mum joined in, it was awesome!

But I want to be honest, it is not easy bringing your kid along. And the race isn't perfect
  1. The race started really early and my kid couldn't wake up. He slept through the first half and we pushed him in the stroller in the 2nd half. Holding hands to cross the finishing line...it never did materialized. :'(
  2. The race promised dinosaurs so I expected lots of mascots that will bring joy to my kids. It was pathetic. The cute dinosaurs that was even worth photographing were the participants.
  3. And because it coincided with F1, it was hard to navigate to even reach the destination.
But yes, it was all worth it, my kid and I even trained together a few times before the race. And it was those trainings that warm my heart and firmly etch in my memories <3 More runs, definitely!

New Foldable Bike: Hito x6

To start the new year healthy, we have invested in a foldable bike. Decided to do this post up because well, there is quite a bit to think about when deciding on one. Initially, we wanted to get one from Decathlon. We saw so many of them in the parks and on the streets, we felt we probably couldn't differentiate our own.

One thing I did before committing was to try it out at the stores. Given that these bikes were at the lower price range, I was sort of worried "they won't be as good", but trust me - they are fine. In the end, we got the Hito x6 which was slightly more expensive but looked a lot sleeker

Maybe because I am a lady, one of my concerns was its foldability and its weight. When doing the comparisons, I made such a big fuss about 0.1kg difference etc. which feels silly now cos the bike is really light. I have no problems even lifting it. With regards to its foldability, I only fold when necessary and it is quite easy to do so!

This was the video which we inspected before purchasing. I thought it was pretty informative so I am going to share it here. I am probably going to share more nice bike routes and DIY projects to ~zheng it up in future posts. But so far the bike connectors are awesome and trips to the nearest mall are a lot more convenient. Psss...no bikes were destroyed or stolen when it was parked in public!

Jemaime.co: I am now wearing skirts

I have always wondered why mothers wear sportswear when they are going out. After embracing motherhood, I finally understand why! It is because it is comfy, protects your modesty and still let you look casually chic. Apart from that, a nice fitting activewear will encourage you to get back in groove (by that I mean exercising) Hehe.

I came across Jemaime.co, an activewear brand with more options for bigger sized women. I am definitely a lot meatier than before pregnancy. And disappointingly, I am struggling with that last 5kg (which sort of attached itself on me after I stop breastfeeding) Grrr.

This is me in my skirt. :) It has been a good 1 year (?) since I wore a skirt outdoors with my baby in the tow. It is quite hard to wear skirts because there is bound to be a lot of squatting action when you are dealing with a baby/ kid and the seamless everyday shorts ($39.90) underneath my skirt made it possible. Additional perk: it holds up the tummy too.

Leggings are most mothers's favourite, but I don't really like fabric sticking to my fat calves and thighs and they are a bit warm for Singapore's weather. So I prefer shorts but shorts don't really look that good on it own. The solution - throw a skirt over it :)

I really love Jemaime.co options for the top. I always admired women who has the figure/ courage to show their midriff. I never could do so and after childbirth, I think the chance of me ever doing that might dip even lower. For activewear, most of us would think that it is either baring or shirts/ singlets (not very sexy).

Hehe, I found something in the middle - a sexy slit at the sides or at the back, or sheer material. I am wearing the everyday tank with a slit at the back and the material at the back is slightly sheer as well. I like it for walks outdoors because it looks more put together than a t-shirt which sort of make me look like a slob.

I am now trying to get back into my old bodyshape and will be sharing a lot more on the exercises I do (really hard to squeeze time I admit) and the tools I use to make it possible. So do stay tune if you are into light exercising :D The sport series will be rebranded as Fit Me Up cos it sounds a little more groovy than its old name, haha :P

Exploring Clementi Woods Park in SmarTrike

For the sake of my own sanity, I have been exploring parks. Somehow walks in the parks clear my head better. If you are no homebody like me, grab a cup of cafe coffee and enjoy it at a park, it will make life a little sweeter.

This time round, we are exploring Clementi Woods Park. Honestly, this didn't used to my sort of park. It is really green and boring. But now, I actually like how unpretentious it is. Maybe that's why the expats like it too. You don't really see many people there, great for Covid situation, only some ang-mohs walking their dogs or strolling with their kids.

I like to think I am walking my Dalmatian too! Hehe. We got our little one a trike and he loves it. There are many brands out there but this one caught my eye because it had character. It works like a stroller, just that it can be modified into a tricycle when baby is older. The shade can be adjusted and there is a little cup holder at the front. If it was foldable, this would have been perfect. Price-wise, SmarTrike has quite a strong brand so I think below S$200+ still seems reasonable.

We were at Clementi Woods Park to do his 10 months photoshoot and baby turned a few heads. Hard not to I would think *chuckles*, he was dressed in The Suspender Shorts from the Baby Closet ($40.90) and was riding his trike proudly. We might be exploring more parks with baby in the next few posts. Now I really want to be a green parent too!

Funky Find: Axtro Fit 2

Hey guys, guess what! The next generation fitness tracker that is developed in collaboration with Health Promotion Board for the upcoming National Steps Challenge Season 5 is out! If you are a Singaporean or a Permanent Resident, who is a Silver Generation (born in year 1959 earlier), rejoice!

As long as you have signed up for Season 5 and have not received any heart-monitoring fitness tracker during Season 4, you will be eligible for the special edition Axtro Fit 2. Check out the chic red straps, super auspicious! For more details on the collection and eligibility, please refer to this link.

We have tested out the Axtro Fit 2 and here are some of the reasons why we like it better than its predecessor!

  1. Colour screen: My father was immediately attracted to this new and visible feature, so he is now hoarding mine until he gets his special edition Axtro Fit 2.
  2. Magnetic Charging Cradle: Personally, I prefer this charging design. It feels more sleek and stylish.
  3. Improved sensors: The old folks in my house don't really care about this function. But to me this matters a lot. Axtro Fit 2 can sense the heart rate as well as the steps more accurately. In addition, there is a workout mode to track exercises more easily with a real-time heart-rate view.
  4. Extended Battery Life: It makes me feel I am saving energy and thus saving money...hehe.

If you are not a Silver Generation, fret not. You can also get your very own Axtro Fit 2 at $19. You can either purchase it directly from AXTRO Sports through their online store or visit their brick and mortar shop at #02-22 at Peninsula Shopping Centre (beside Funan).

Compared to other fitness watches, I find the Axtro Fit 2 quite value for money. I currently own a Fitbit Ionic as well. Admittedly, I don't use all the functions of  my Fitbit Ionic but of all the functions I use, the visible lacking functions of Axtro Fit 2 are the waterproof ability, sleep sensor and trainer. For any of you who are thinking of getting a more expensive tracker, I would suggest you to try out the Axtro Fit 2 first before you make your big-ticket purchase. From experience of the people around me, not everybody enjoys being tracked daily and not everyone actually require more functions on top of the basics. Hope this review helps, as always feel free to hit me up if you would like more advise :D

Snoopy Run 2018: Running with the Peanuts Gang

Last weekend, I successfully completed the Snoopy Run! Wheee~~~ and I am proud to say for the first time in my life, I didn't stop and the only time I took a break was for water once at the water station. Timing wise, I don't think I did very well considering my Bro decided to abandon me halfway.

But I think it is a great start. It has been a long while since I have gone for a "fun run" and Snoopy Run I can assure you is an ultra family-friendly fun run. If you have not been training, you will be relieved to know that there are many human road-blocks leisurely walking so you won't be stressed!

Personally, I didn't really like the gravel trail at Bedok Reservoir cos I am too used to proper tracks and the treadmills. #spoilt But I do enjoy the nice scenery during the run. This includes wildlife, hunky dragon boaters etc. Muhahaha! For me Bedok is very out of the way, so we woke up like 6am for the run?!?

But still, I even see my friends from the West at the run. In fact, I saw a lot of familiar faces despite the crowd. Guess that's the charm of the Peanuts Gang!!! Compared to other runs, this run is quite no-frills thus it is more affordable.

But still, it did not shortchange its participants on photo moments. We ended up taking photos an hour before the run and another round of photo session after the run. The best thing is there is even a volunteer photographer at each photo spot. And they are highly professional. I think they can even take better than my Bro. My Mum was gushing over the photos we sent home. Hehe.

There were a lot of people so the queue was pretty long but because of the volunteers stationed at each photo spot, there wasn't cases of people hogging the photo spots! :P

For the run, I actually did consider running with the Snoopy Plushie, but lugging the race packs back from Plaza Sing nearly broke my arms (I collected for my bro too) so I knew if I had to run with a Plushie on my back, I am not gonna make it. And my Bro told me siao, he is not carrying excessive stuff for me.

Psss...he actually helped my carry my water bottle during the run so I can't really push my luck too much. But it was probably a good idea I didn't bring the Plushie cos I perspired a lot during the run. Hehe :) Can't wait for my next run already!!!

Psss.. a 6-meter-tall-Peanuts character inflatable will also be making its debut at the run. And runners, you will get a Woodstock drawstring pack and a stylish limited gold-ink printed T- shirt! For fans who have the budget, I would really suggest to get a classic or plushie pack because it consist a greater set of collectibles -  towel, purse and even a plush doll *faints*

If you are going to, you will be seeing me there. This is the first time I am having a run at Bedok Reservoir Park so I am pretty pumped about it.

Sail with Me

Sorry for the lack of the usual content. School's started and I am still fumbling over some adult problems. :( Kinda, of sucks when you are in a middle of no where. I will be sharing with you my "Indonesia Ambassador photos" soon :D

Since I am still busy sorting out my travel photos so I thought I will share some photos of sailing instead. Yea, I am a sail girl. Woohoo! But cos I injured my calf overseas, I guess this is the end of my sailing journey for a while.

Starting off with videos first, in fact I have tons of them. But it is going to be too "heavy too load" if I upload them all up in this post. So I am going to just share the most "exciting" moments. Personally, I love sailing. I think I am just a sea-baby. (This doesn't mean I am a good seaman in any sense.)

I think when you are out at sea. There is a sense of freedom (in my terms, lost of all control and you temporarily leave your fate to some higher powers!) I like having full control of my life. But after sailing, I just learn to let loose and go with the flow literally.

I think initially the most fearful part was being dunked underwater , getting hit by the poles or smashing into the rocks (All happened to me! :( when I was onboard) But now, I am like okay just react to them. In fact, I think my brain has now been trained to be able to think in "crisis mode".

Life's so called madness is now a breeze LOL! Perhaps you need to have your life flashing in front of you a few times before you appreciate the mundane stress-filled days in your life. LOL! And here's a cool fact, I am sailing with my brother. But I am hoping that my new partner will be my BF. (Cos I really want to show him what I see out there instead of describing it. Some things can't really be felt through words. Romantic huh <3)

And here's some of my little sailing pics (cos I never bring my GoPro out to sea. I am going to do a separate post on the items you should invest in a GoPro and where to get them in one of my subsequent posts soon.

And the picture of my scar, yea it is in the shape of an apple (love mark from the BF). Initially, it looked pretty cute and cool until it blistered up and turned dark. Had to see the doctor who charged me for bandaging but instead applied disinfectant only. Feeling very sian cos this may leave a permanent scar (disfigured) and I didn't buy travel insurance woa. (Hope it doesn't get infected. Pray for me kay!)

Family, Fitness, Fun! with Zoom

So a while back, I went to Zoom Park with the Smitten Team. So just a little bit more information on Zoom Park, it is the biggest indoor trampoline park in Singapore at 20,000 square feet with over 80 springy trampoline mats!
The best thing about Zoom Park is that fun is really affordable. An hour jump is about $17 (with party packages at $38 per pax) and with additional hours the rate per hour decreases. (That's still cheaper than my yoga class!) And for every hour you are burning up to 1000 calories! Apprently,10 minutess of jumping is equivalent to 30 mins of jogging! o.O
The facilities include a trampoline dodgeball court, high performance trampoline mats, parkour walls, slam dunk courts, tumble tracks and a 17m lateral rock wall (which I failed to climb even halfway! I thought I would enjoy jumping into the foam pit but when I realised it was rather difficult to navigate through it. I decided to bounce instead.
And bouncing is a lot more fun. New heights, new perspective! By the way, Zoom Park is located near Jurong East so good for you if you live in the West. It is quite a private area so you would still need to do a bus transfer! But for those who are looking for a more cosy place, Zoom Park may be for you.
My favourite was the Dodgeball yea. I think I would have enjoyed the basketball team match too, but it was construction at that time. I guess despite my lack of stamina and hatred to sweat, playing dodgeball on a trampoline made me exercise without knowing. I had really bad aches all over my body the next day but it was all worth it! :D
For you readers who are neither kids nor adults with kids, the Zoom Night may be of interest of you too. It is basically a "clubbing experience" minus the alcohol. I guess it is alternative way to sweat it out and have fun whether with your family or friends!
When I was there, I saw so many children parties going on and I can imagine why this is like the new MacDonald's party for them. It has all their favorite food/ snacks. Yummy pizzas, eclairs, pretty fruits <3 And at the end of the day they even have a swag goodie bag and pair of sticky socks to bring home. (Maybe you can go home and be Spiderman too!
So after working out, I literally feed the calories right back into my body. Damn. On a side note, for any of you who are keen to learn some tricks to impress your friends, you can even join the Jump Acrobat programme, where you get to learn basic gymnastics skills. I guess I am too late to start on it, but you still can!

Running Hero: Beyond Limits

Remember one month ago, I spoke about my 8Km race. My medals are finally here so I thought it is about high time I pen my post on my experience. So I was a Running Hero for 42 Race in one of my previous posts. You can read more about them here.
To set your image of me right, I am quite a running novice. I only became more active this year. I became a hero because I wanted to challenge myself. But one thing I did so damn wrong was I started on a marathon - Road & Trail 2017 that was made for the experienced runners and I lack the practice.
I am not going to lie, the convention was particularly difficult for me. Firstly, I was very self-conscious. I keep having this nagging feeling that I was being judged (even if no one was even judging me.) I couldn't do most of the exercises and there were many times I wondered...so what am I doing here...
This was dragged over 2 days so it gave me time...to actually contemplate to give up. When I was considering the options I had, there were more reasons for me to not turned up. Imagine 3 hours of pure humiliation/pain/sweat etc. versus 3 hours of quality time spent with the BF for pre-V-Day celebration. In fact, I was dreading it so much I was 15 minutes late for the race.
The first 2 rounds were definitely the hardest. There were so much negative inner voices and my ego took huge blows every time the road ICs indicated a round number greater than mine and I had to correct them. :( I felt a lot like a loser and did plotted to drop out somewhere.
But...on my 3rd lap, a kind mid-tier runner paced me and I felt a lot better when he told me "You don't have to be fastest cos there will be always be someone faster. The point is to complete the race." And so complete the race I did, and I even bring the favour forward, I paced someone slower than me because I knew how it felt when you know you may be last...alone.
I completed the race despite my friends' disbelief and the medic trying to stop me at the first round. This is one of my proudest achievement in my life even though the timing is mediocre and one of my most humbling learning experience. I always don't always give 2 hoots about what most people think. But now I realise that is because I know I am good at it and has a relative good chance of making people eat their words back.
The truth is if you don't give up and keep pushing yourself forward, you will go beyond the limits you set yourself (even for things you suck at). I hope me sharing my experience with you will let you know the inertia to keeping fit you have is not exclusive to you, yourself. You may have to build yourself around more supportive people and try to persist. Remember, you are not alone. Good luck!

Spot me Sporting

Whee, it has been a while since I go for such an intense date. Lol. Now that I am older and have poorer stamina, I barely spend a day out of my house. Half a day is considered rather exhausting! I need my nap! *Complains*
So after lessons, we went to do our Dynamic Duo Challenge. Normally, it would be considered out of the way. But since I had to collect my race pack too, I guess it is not that inconvenient. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I wanted a free shoe bag for my sports stuff. Even took my BF's free shoe bag so I have 2 to realise (scolded too by my Mum) that I already have 1 at home.
dynamic-duo-challenge
It is still on tomorrow, so you guys could join it too. I was there really for the shoe bag and hopefully snag some great prizes. But the goodie bag was pretty amazing. I have now a new diffuser (which I was contemplating getting one to make fruity-tasting-zero-nutritional-value water) and skipping rope. It seems so long since I last skipped. I was a pretty good skipper in elementary school. Maybe it is time to learn some new skip tricks :D.
The challenge was really fun but too chillax for my competitive nature when it coming to winning prizes. I was so pumped up to "play it to win it". I was so onz about the whole challenge, I even made the BF wore our "Today I do Nothing" Couple Tee, which is kinda of ironical cos we did so much things today. Haha. There were other couples equally enthusiastic as well. So hey, don't judge me!
nangfa-thai-kitchen
I don't usually go to the East, so the BF made me do a lot of exploration (walking). We had lunch at Nangfa Thai Kitchen which I felt rather similar to Nakhon Kitchen. The vibes, the food, everything was the same. But both serve affordable, Thai food. So if you are around the restaurants' area, do give them a try. :D
I am pretty proud of myself because for the first time I didn't over-order (Only the Tom kha gai and Phad Thai tang hoon)! And we did try dishes that were off the norm. I prefer Tom Kha Gai to the normal Tom Yum cos of the thicker condensed milk taste. But still, I had to do my Dynamic Duo Challenge with a bursting belly.
road-trail
After the challenge, we went to collect my race pack. Yes, I am joining the Road & Trail 2017. It is 8KM so I hoped I don't "漏气“ and complete the race. I haven't tried anything like this before and it does seem I am the most unfit among the pack. I guess people will be judging me but just let them judge...cos I need to start somewhere. Hopefully, after this, I will be more inspired to lead a very active lifestyle.
The race pack came with a neon pink bottle (I am off pink but neon pink still does makes my heart pump wildly) and a thread-bound notebook. The notebook is one of the finest "free notebook" quality. Am so loving it <3 Will write more about my 8KM after I am done with it so do keep a lookout if you are feeling active too.
After our really long day, the BF and I went to cook dinner! I decided to do a post for every 3 meals we make ourselves to share and maybe inspire to eat in more :D Hope you like this new series for the year. Take care and bye!

Funky Find: National Steps Challenge

It took me a while to write about this, but I feel that this is a pretty good initiative that ought to be highlighted in case there are people out there who still doesn't know about this. (How is this even possible?!?)
I am sure if you are Singaporean, you would have vaguely heard about the National Steps Challenge, an initiative by the Health Promotion Board. If you participate in it, you would first have to join a very long queue to obtain your step tracker if you don't have one. For the steps you clock, you can gain points at each tier and redeem vouchers when you reach a certain number of points.
steps-counter
Initially, I didn't really have too much liking for this campaign. For someone who doesn't really like exercising, it is not that difficult to come out with a million and one reasons to hate it.
  1. The step counter looks tacky. I can't possibly wear 2 watches around (I don't even have the habit of wearing 1 watch by the way).
  2. It is the lower end version of fitbit. It doesn't trigger me to walk around. The functions are limited.
...
100. It is not even sensitive. It doesn't clock accurately.
But the true reason was it was very pressuring for me to clock the steps. Everyone in my family clocks 10,000 steps effortlessly. For me, I don't even get half the number without intentionally going for evening strolls. And yes, my family is competing with each other on the number of steps. :( And another reason was because the app constantly reminded me of overly-high intake of calories and how long it takes before I grow obese.
minion-fat-jokes
I am just a lot more self-conscious on my weight and blubber. Avoidance was a pretty good strategy initially but after a while I decided to face up to the hard truth and made a lot of changes to my lifestyle. Every day, I will walk and intentionally clock 10,000 steps around the stadium and I started to join a lot more cheap/ free sporting events.
I am starting to reduce my food intake as intake and see my voracious appetite slowly shrinking. I still snack though :( But I do appreciate the fact that it was this step counter that triggered my healthier, more active lifestyle. And I encourage all of you to join the next season or the Dynamic Duo Challenge. It is a bit out of the way but I want a shoe bag so I will be there. :P
dynamic-duo
Sorry for this downer post while everyone is still reveling in the festivities. I just really wanted to emphasize the importance of taking care of your own body because a lot of people I know are falling terminally ill.
It is just difficult to kick start the habit. But once you get use to it, you will start to enjoy back-ache free days and happily say Bye to "Flu-Days". Stay Healthy and Prosperous! :D

Feeling Soul Good with Soul Legs

athletic-socks
Lately, I have been quite on in an active lifestyle. So I thought I would share with you one of my gear - the Compression Sports Socks. Don't be deceive by its fashionable catching appearance, it is more than a fashion accessory. It really does work, providing quite a lot of comfort to my feet when I explore my neighbourhood. (I won't say run cos I am really too slow to be considered running.)
Previously, I am using just simple socks from Pasar Malam. The biggest difference I can feel that is sometimes after a while, there be a sort of pain striking through my soles. It is not often. But in retrospect, I think is because my socks didn't provide the extra cushioning comfort to break the impact and the necessary support.
soul-legs
Initially, I was pretty apprehensive because of the bright neon colours and the high socks. My sports shoes are turquoise so I was really worried it would clash and people would question my sanity. Haha. But I ended up looking like a soccer player LOL! Cute one I hope. I still don't want to look too shabby exercising.
So normally, my running gear is shorts and random tees. But I am usually in red, blue or black. Neon pink still matches pretty well. For guys, there is a blue compression socks available. Wearing the socks for my brisk walks/ slow runs seems to have some toning effect though that could be totally psychological.
cotton-on-yogawear
I don't use capris cos I always feel rather restrictive. But I am just trying the look out for some of you who prefer showing off some nice long slender legs which I obviously don't have. I think it still looks good with Capri. I might just try wearing it for my Yoga. (The Capri I mean, not the socks)
Some of you may feel that active wear and sports gears are really expensive. So here's some brands that are on the affordable end. My sports shoes are kid's Sketchers LOL, so they are less than a hundred dollars after discount. My sportswear are mostly from Cotton On, a brand that I really like a lot. (I also adore their sister brands - Typo and Rubi by the way.) And if I run in the dead of night, I may also use Platubes. If I have any more other good finds, I will be sure to share with you. :)

Funky Find: 42 Race

unicorn-fun-race
So I thought I would share with you all a virtual run organiser - 42 Race. To date, I have done 2 races with them, received my badges and even won a unicorn bedroom slippers. <3
Initally, I was rather worried that this was those scam websites. I couldn't find any online reviews. There were some Facebook comments but I still had doubts. I only proceeded with the race because I really wanted the unicorn badges (for the love of unicorns) and it was still quite cheap (S$9.90 a race).

There are usually 2 type of races - 21 Day Challenge and a fun themed race. I took part in both and is now habitually more active. I don't run but I do brisk walk on a daily basis. Sometimes I even swim. I guess it was pretty good in making me more active.
I usually join only if I like the badges and prizes. Sad to say for the upcoming year, I don't really like the Horoscope badges. So probably only going to run for my month :( But... I am not breaking my habit. Just probably not paying to collect the running badges.

Would really recommend 42 Race if you are looking for cheaper themed races and want to avoid the crowds. But if you prefer atmospheric runs, then of course it would come at a premium.
Stay active and fit! I will probably write about my fitness regime next year. I think it is going to be rather impressive cos I have a mix of sports. But mainly relaxing ones. LOL. I am after all a sloth!

Pocari Sweat Run

3D Pen Art
Get well bear made by the BF using a 3D pen. Ugly but Adorbs!!! Haha. Now, I am a huge fan of runs. Just like to run with a group of people wearing the same attire. Heh.
For those of you like-minded people, out there, another run for you people out there! POCARI SWEAT is calling out to runners to join the brand in completing the journey and running together in this year’s edition of the Run. In the four years that the POCARI SWEAT Run has been held in Singapore, runners have covered a total of 300,000 KM, which is more than 75% of the distance between the Earth and the Moon. In 2016, with a remaining distance of 80,000 KM, participants can make history by taking part in either the 5KM or 10KM category, with each step contributing to the journey to the Moon.
Pocari Sweat
Do you know? Before astronauts ascend to space, they have to go through lunar landing programs to prepare themselves for their journey. For this run, there will be activities such as astronaut recruitment centers, based in selected NTUC FairPrice hyper-marts, which involve hydration examinations and space run simulations to heighten the anticipation for the Run. In addition, POCARI SWEAT will be conducting “Space Training Programs” to help prepare registered “Astronauts” for their mission. The running clinics seek to help participants to achieve their goals and personal bests for the upcoming POCARI SWEAT Run.
Thematic elements will be included throughout the POCARI SWEAT Run; from the appearance of a space expert to space-themed refueling stations, or hydration points, which will allow runners to properly hydrate themselves in order to achieve their peak performance. These will give participants a feel of their journey from the Earth to the Moon, much like a lunar expedition.
Ready to run to the moon? Join the POCARI SWEAT Run 2016 to run to the moon together! Sign up now to enjoy the early bird promotion which goes till 30 April 2016. Registration closes on 19 June 2016 or once all running slots are sold out.

My Little Pony Run: The Day of The Run

Call me a fan now! Yea, not am I now a fan of cute/awesome/cool races with a bunch of crowd, I am also now a Bronie!!! Officially. After the run, I pretty much desired for the merchandises with My Little Ponies prints. *Throws any last sign of professionalism out of the window* And I know my names now. *Blushes with fairy dust*
Yea, I took part in the competitive 6KM Bestie run with my Bestie of cos. The day started really early like me crawling up at 6AM. God knows how I did it, considering I was nursing a cold. But with sheer will power, I want my plushie, I did it. Took the wrong bus though (2 stops in the opposite direction before my sickly brain figured things out) Swiftly hopped off the bus and jay run to the bus stop on the other side like it was a pre-run exercise. (I am truly and surely growing more cool by the day)
My Little Pony Friendship Run
Since I was so enthusiastic about the race, I even arrived early. But B was so so late and so to past time, I tattooed my face gloriously. Wanted to tell the world I like Rainbow Dash cos I love rainbows! And admired my outfit which was unintentionally matching :) I realised I actually do love tiffany green. This colour is actually so awesome despite being so difficult to match.
As I was waiting for B, I met people who ooh and aww over the cuteness of my Tee (and me probably) as I munched on my breakfast by Bread Talk (Extra 1 bucks for the Soya which tasted so dang heavenly. Yum so free shout out to them.) A group of guys who obviously has no taste for cute things sighed at me exasperatedly "Not another one!" Well, the race is obviously kinda of gender specific. There were A LOT more females than males!
Bronies
It was really awkward embracing the Bronie in me. But at Sentosa Island, I knew I was at home as I was gushing over the mascots and surrounded by people who are way more cray than me. There were fanatics in Pom Pom skirts, rainbow socks, sleeves. Anything pastel, rainbow, there were just fans that went to show their love. An absolute colourful festival if you ask me.
B and I did pretty awesome in our race. I slowed the team down as usual. But I did abnormally well despite running with my bag of tissues. I actually jogged for 4/6KM!!! And within an hour!!! Somebody clap for me please!
My Little Pony Frienship Run
It is really a race about love and friendship. Parents with their kids and groups of friends. B and I spent 4KM humming and huffing. Pretty obvious who is which. And the 2Km when we were leisurely walking chatting and catching up. This time, the route was very, very friendly. No humps and bumps. Water points were decently and strategically placed.
If there was any thing that I was disappointed with, it seemed that I missed the bubbles and sparkles as promised. The whole route for me was pretty dull except for the coloured balloons. I actually ran with my phone and ended up not taking much photos. Bummed.
My Little Pony Run
But...the fringe activities made up for everything!!! It was the best ever. I swear. Check out my rainbow nails. And B did a manicure too. Unbelievable. Thanks to the staggered timing, not all the time, the queues were unbearably long. I wanted to try the glitter tattoos too, but the sun got in my eye :P
Yea, it was kinda of embarrassing at first, squeezing with the young kids and their parents. But, I was sick...literally and also sick of being judged. Why should one fan be deprived from another. Damn, I am getting my pastel nails and enjoying all the free fringe activities. Awesome time I had!!! Would have really stayed longer if I hadn't run out of tissues.
Rainbow Dash
Yea, and this is what we went there for. The Ponies Plushies. So many people snapping shots with them despite the sweat. It was kinda painful for me snapping my ponies as B and I were raining sweat and me arranging them on the green man-made green (Do you know everything looks good on those manicured grass backdrop!!) Planning to save them for my future kids. Guess which one is mine :P
Yup and we got our medals too. This time round, I am not taking them out to hang them proudly on my neck. Cos the last time, I had to wash my medal cos I was so freaked out having to display sweaty stinky medals. So nope, this time round, it stays in their plastic. Still very pretty in photos what!!!
Fat Pony
Last picture of the ponies, as my BF call them...you mean you are going for the "Fat Ponies" Run. Pretty sure he is the true artist behind this drawing. I am hoping for a next My Little Pony Run. This deserve a round 2!!!

My Little Pony - Friendship Run

Last year, there were so many interesting themed runs. Kicking off this year, the cutest every run is here!
Celebrating girls at heart childhood magical dreams, this is a friendship race with - My Little Pony! Yeah! You will get to see Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Applejack and Rarity! With three different race categories to choose from, this is a race where the little ones can take part - 1KM Pony Kids Run.
Friendship Run
I will be probably going for the solo 4KM Fun Run cos the 6KM Besties Run (double fun) is competitive and given my fitness level, I don't think I can survive it. What is the most exciting are the series of fringe activities! Manicures and coloured hair extensions excites me!!!
Plus there will be merchandise booths of collectibles! I don't know my my ponies' names that well, but I know they are cute enough to bring home, haha.
Runner
And how cool are the runner's entitlement! The Runner Tees is nothing to scream about, but they toy plush toy and the finisher medal are frigging adorable! Do remember to get your phone or cameras ready as we all run through bubbles and huge rainbow sculptures! *Instagram Alert*
Registration is now open so sign up early to enjoy the early bird promotions till 15 January 2016. Registration closes on 12 February 2016 or once all available run slots are sold out. Do click on the link for more information.
