Cooling Weighted Blanket from Serenity Living

And so, I had my first taste of luxury in bed. Weighted blanket is quite the rage now so I sort of decided to jump on the bandwagon and test it out for myself. Mummies as you know don't have the best rest and if anything can make me sleep better, count me in!

We got the Cooling Weighted Blanket from Serenity Living in Twilight Blue (S$288) as it was the only available colour then. But it suited our house's blue theme fine. They now have a dainty pink and dusty grey shade which I am very in love with. Deciding on the colours would have created quite a bit of problem if there were these colour choices HAHA!

Quite honestly, I expected these blankets to be very heavy. I won't say that they are light but the weight is very well-distributed. You can flip and toss around and the blanket doesn't even make a sound. I have to say the bamboo duvet cover is my favourite. It is silk-like and cooling, which is great for Singapore's humid weather. But a down side is that you need to iron it after a wash or else it would look crumply like mine!

Washing is quite a breeze. You just have to untie the sides (it is is kept in place by tying them to each side) and throw it into the washing machine. The recommended wash frequency is once a month. Overall, I did sleep soundly maybe because the weighted blanket felt like a nice, soft hug

They say mummies save the best for their child and there might be some truth in the statement because my child is enjoying it now as an extended matress. Weighted blanket make pretty good mattress too (though not its intended use) because they are quite substaintial in thickness and heavy enough not to be lifted by my young baby

Does he also sleep better? I don't know but sometimes we find him curled in the corner of the weighted blanket, sleeping calmly. But I do for sure. Because sometimes I have to sleep beside him to comfort him and this weighted blanket is a god-send. Without it, my back would probably hurt and dang I am no spring chicken.

I would think the weighted blanket is not just a fad. Give it a try if you are looking for a better night's sleep!

Tips on Essential Oils

I always have difficultly going to bed "on time" so if you are like me, you might like this recommendation I have. I think most people already know about this tip, but still going to share it for those who don't. The secret is essential oils.

My logic is that you get familiar to a scent. And so when you sniff it in the surrounding, it induce you to sleep. I even have scents to keep me alert as well. Haha. I have tried many different brands of essential oils and I realise that there is a reason why some are more expensive than the other.

I ever tried the S$2 type from Diaso, but it just cheap and a little bit pungent. Never went back after. I also tried the Body Shop. It was really nice but they have limited selection, so I am quite pleased to share with you Rosmosa.

For sleep, I think I am quite an expert in it. I usually suggest Lavender. You can dilute it in a spray or pour 2-4 drops in your humidifier. It acts as a good room freshener as well. I only started using Lemongrass recently cos of its insect repellant nature. Surprising it went pretty well with Lavender.

Rosmosa also sells other form of essential oils. But I am only familiar with 2 others (cos I am using them) - Tea Tree for treating pimples and Argan Oil for smoother hair. I do hear some essential oils can be consumed but I have done that and I don't think Rosmosa's are meant for consumption.

I do occassionally use it for massage. (More like forcing the BF to massage me LOL!) Doubt they have any healing power per say, but it helps me to relax while the masseur (BF will be sad to know of his new profession hahaha)release the tension. By the way, Rosmosa also have a pretty good selection of humidifiers and at very reasonable price. Do check them out if you need one. :) (I prefer electronic ones by the way if you are interested.)

Sleep Wellness: Sleep Naked for beauty sleep

I love pillows! I love pillows~!~

If you don't know this by now, now you know...I love pillows =D
Drum roll, please, my new pillow from Sleep Naked, on top of my collection of 3 pillows. =D The name seriously is hell kinky. LOL! But I like the Chinese quote embroidered on it. Every man should have a dream! After all, dreams are visions for the future. =)

Okay, frankly, I thought the pillow would be gigantic. Haha! Quite disappointed when it was pretty tiny because it is so soft and cushy. So dang comfortable to sleep on! #Big is always better#
But still, a tiny pillow is still a pillow.  It still can act like an arm rest, head rest, back rest or even a butt rest. LOL! Basically just prop it anywhere and rest your body against it! Comfy!
Pose it with a car, and dang you got a sleep swag! Hehe!

I don't know about you, but I like to bring my pillow everywhere. Okay nearly everywhere, except the toilet and out of my house. Sometimes I do bring them overseas. I know it is a bad habit. =(
In my opinion, pillows are probably any man's best friend, after a dog. I used to have like more pillows (5 to be exact). But Mummy says that it is hard to maintain, if I want to have that many pillows, i have to wash the covers myself. =(
So, I decided to cut down. Yes, I am very lazy. SO WHAT! Hahaha!

My dad say should photoshop and add drool to it so that it is funny. -.-
To all suitors out there, obviously this is a posed photo. I usually sleep more like the tiny photo in the first collage. I swear it is true. Please don't strike my name out of your list of eligible bacherlorettes!
On a side note, this is a HK brand. =D Lately, I seem to have a penchant for anything HK. Hehe!
Visit Sleep Naked! (and you can sleep naked) *to be taken literally* HAHA!
