Shopback: It's shopping time

I really have a love-hate relaionship with the last quarter of the year. Part of me really love the good deals that come along with it. Another part of me truly abhor the face that I am spending non-stop this quarter. First 9.9, then 10.10, next 11.11 and now 12.12. My pocket has truly burnt a big hole. 

Here's a money saving tip. When I am shopping at the platform, I always access them through Shopback. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Shopback, it is a rewards platform that give you cashback when you shop with their partners. Yes, you get cold hard cash back. I have tried and tested it :P

This year, Shopback launched the World's first christmas cashback cake from Bake Inc.. The light and fluffy chooclate sponge cake is layered with a rich dark chocolate cream and is topped with chocolate cream. It is dusted with powedered sugar and decorated with lots of money to remind us the amount of savings shoppers can bring for us. Here's a spoiler, within this delectable treat lies cold hard cash waiting for you to unravel. :P

The 800g cake costs $58. For every purchase, you will get 1% cashback credited into your Shopback account which can be eventually withdrawn to your personal banking account. In addition, you will find S$12 embedded within the cake. In total, the cake will cost less than S$50, which is quite a good steal. The cake can feed more than 10 pax (although it humbly claims to feed 8 to 10 people) and for the health-conscious you will be happy to know that it is low in sugar and does not contain any preservatives. 

Coincidentally, my little brother's birthday lie within the Christmas season and we decided to double this up as a birthday cake. So you lucky readers get to have an early review on the taste. The cake definitely taste as good as it looks. Be reminded to thaw it before consuming so that the runny chocolate would taste nicer. My brother was tickled pink by the surprise embedded in it. 

Personally, I was more excitied by Cashback Troopers Plushies (comes with the cake) which I thought was extremely adorable and good as props for my future photoshoots. So don't be surprised to see them popping up as and when in future photos. :D Ending the post with a boomerang. Yes, this cake is so good for photos and Instag! Review: GoPro Hero4 Silver

So, it seems I have been neglecting this little space of mine. If you are wondering why, I have a new toy and it sorts of distract me from a lot of things :D This toy is no way new in the market, cos there are people that have in way before me. 

It just took me a while to finally realize luck really isn't on my side. I am definitely not winning this. And since the BF offered to get me as an anniversary gift. I was like "Yea"!!! Finally I can vlog (Lol!)

So, this is my GoPro Hero 4 - Silver. I didn't exactly do a lot of homework on it. I just picked Silver cos it had a screen at the back for me to review the captured footages. I don't think I am that great a videographer anymore. It has a shorter battery lifetime so it just means more conservation of energy, more prudent filming and just drag a good power bank around. LOL!

I got this "miniature unheard-of camera" (as my Dad like to put it) at a quite steal. Initially, we decided to go to Changi to get it (cos no GST charges), which let you save about 7%. Was asking around to gather more information on the GoPro (which the BF wanted), so C told me about the Double 7% discount at Changi over a particular weekend.

This was when I heard about this free card - Changi Rewards Card. For any of you living in the East, this is one card you should really get. With this, you get to Enjoy 7% GST savings at participating outlets in the public areas of Changi Airport. Particularly for cosmetics and electronic products, it is really kinda of worth it to make a trip down even if you live in the West.

It happened to be one of college friend's birthday that month, so yea it makes quite a lot of cents, I mean sense to go Changi for that weekend. Haha, usually I would suggest other places so they were pleasantly surprised when I offered to go East. The girls also did their shopping there after hearing my savings. (Actually they made up a shopping list on the spot).

For the GoPro, we cant' use our normal memory card, maybe cos it is capturing videos with lots of action? So we invested in SanDisk Extreme. Got it from Lazada as the savings are more substantial than buying at Changi that day. For me, I am a buyer particularly concern about warranty. So, I am willing to pay a slight premium for warranty. Otherwise, you can find cheaper options at Lazada (Not an affiliate of them by the way)

Plus if you buy from Shopback, you get extra rebates on top of the credit card you use. Plus you may additional interest if you hit certain minimum spending. I am not sure how much I saved with all these, but you can follow my steps if you wanna save some money too :D Here's the first GoPro Video!

Funky Find: Redmart and Shopback

Lately, my family have been using Redmart to do our online shopping. Not a sponsored post, but it is really quite a good service with the free delivery for every $50 purchase. So far we have been buying "big-ticket" items i.e. rice. So it is really worth it! (Don't have to lug it home and it hits the free minimum delivery fast.

We start using Redmart mainly because we had $10 free credits and free delivery for $30 spent. Nearly 33.33% off. Super Hua! You guys can try it out too if you are interested. Freshness wise, I really don't know cos we don't really buy the fresh produce there. We mainly use it for heavy items. Haha.

Another website that I have been using quite often is Shopback. Generally, I think it is not bad for online purchases that you already have intention to buy (not buying for the sake of buying). It is basically additional rebates. 

Was not very into new online "gimmicks". But these are pretty good. Have been using them for a while now and they are truly legit. Just sharing some savings given the poor economy.
