Kwee Zeen: Royal Maharaja Feast

By now, most would probably presume that Kwee Zeen is one of our favourite dining places in Sentosa given the number of times we have reviewed their food. The husband and I deemed this place to be serving quality food and the quantity is always massive, which makes it value for money.

This time round, we are there for the Royal Maharaja Feast, which I would describe as fitting for a Sultan. Even for 5 pax, we could barely finish the food for 4. It was that much. Any fans of the Indian cusisine should drop by a visit.

The spread is massive as usual (you can take a look at the menu here) We agreed the Biryani rice was absolutely divine, it was definitely the best rice I have had in my whole life and I could just eat it with the curry itself. My personal favourites include the Salmon Tikka, Roasted Cauliflower, Mushroom Chat Masala and the Garlic Naan. And I am a fan of their Masala Tea.

My husband was wild about the salads. I won't consider myself very well-versed in the Indian cuisine so I had a lot of fun trying out the desserts. If you have a special occassion coming up, no harm coming with a group of friends to experience the "wow factor" when the dishes is first served on the banana leaf.

This is not always on the menu. It is only from Sundays to Thursdays from 6pm onwards. Usually, we are there at Kwee Zeen in the noon so this was also our first time enjoying the night scene. In terms of pricing, it is S$88+ for 2 pax and S$168 for 4 pax. Please book 24 hours in advance to avoid disappointment!

It can be pressurising if you are not familiar with Kwee Zeen's food quantity, so I just want to tell you guys that you can actually take away food you can't finish. No wastage here, so don't feel pressured to finish everything. Just enjoy the ambience! And the food actually taste good after re-heating. Till date, my BIL still talks about the food we took away at the Ultimate Champagne Festive Brunch. (You can read about it here!)

First Buffet at Sofitel Sentosa in 2021

Yea believe it or not, 2021 had so much restrictions that we ended up eating so much at home. I think I am going to end 2021 with no BBQs, but at least I ticked buffet off my list. Last year, we also went to Sofitel Sentosa for their Champagne Brunch (read here about it)! It was then I fell in love with tranquil environment so this time round, I decided to bring my little one this time round for the Christmas Mega (Safe) Brunch.

This is actually his first buffet and second time out on a dining setting. If you are our frequent reader, you would know how much of a dear he actually is on our recent trips out. This one didn't go very well (regrettably) cos I even planned to take some pictures with him after. Haha, but in retrospect, the first time we dined out he bawled throughout. So this was possibly an improvement cos he just wanted to explore.

Can't really blame him cos Sofitel Sentosa is truly beautiful. It has this resort vibe and even have peacocks strutting around. Now that I have become a Mum, I have to admit that my world sort of revolves around this dude. I want to share with him my favorite places. I always feel that children sometimes can be left out during buffets, pinching food here and there from their parents.

Was pretty stoked that Christmas Mega (Safe) Brunch got it covered. The kids even have a special corner for themselves with their favourite food such as pizza, nuggets, fries, sandwiches and fruit jellies. My boy really love their pizza and fries (look at his smile haha). When the peacock came, he got really excited and started tossing his sandwich to feed it. Oh manz. But still it is quite a wonderful experience and he was thoroughly thrilled

People usually go buffets for the variety and you will be happy to know that there is a seafood, Indian, pizza, Oriental and even counters for the cheese and pastry. (Note: The pastry corner is also a good place to find some yummy bread for your little ones) The brunch is currently priced at S$218 for 2 (unless you are going on the actual days) and $60 per child

If you have kids, you would know that time is of essence and sometimes you just don't have time to try all. My personal favourites are the Indian food, Foie Gras (yes there is Foie gras) served on the most delicious bread on Earth, Laksa, as well as the sweet treats. I ended up eating my kid's leftover pizza and it was delicious too.

My BIL jokingly calculated that you just had to eat 50 oysters to break-even, which is quite doable. For the benefit of you folks, I have even included photos of the food that you shouldn't miss. There is also the xmas special cocktails (which I missed but you shouldn't). The brunch is from 12pm to 3pm, which gives you a good time to eat all you can. You should be pretty much done within 2 hours.

For those with kids, outdoors is quite nice as there will be peacocks to catch. You might also want to sit further away from the pool because somehow the kids are all attracted towards it. Even my boy made a fuss wanting to go for a dip. Do dress for the occasion too because there are a lot of pretty spots to take nice photos!

Festive Dining at Kwee Zeen @ Sofitel

I have to admit, I love festives. I love crowds and most importantly, I adore the yummy feast that come along. This year, Christmas seems rather muted, maybe cos I am spending my time mostly at home. Nonetheless, we are not cutting down on the feasting even if it means I will be growing FAT. Haha.

This year, Sofitel has launched The Ultimate Festive Champagne Brunch at Kwee Zeen. For every Sunday in the month of December, a tower brunch can be served at S$128++ per diner, with min. 2 diners to order. Top up another S$98++ and you will get to enjoy unlimited champagne. As I was still breastfeeding, I had to sadly give my champagne a pass. Nonetheless, I still had lots of fun feasting on such a luxurious meal. This brunch was particularly popular with couples and catch-up gatherings.

The tower was 3 stories high, with the meats at the bottom, the cheese platter in the centre and the sweets on top. And it comes with a whole bowl of seafood with caviar and lobster with roe (yum!) Tip: There was so much food that there was even enough to bring back. So start on the seafood platter and the perishables first because there was no way to finish everything!

My personal favourite was the second platter. The cheese was so good I had a hard time stopping myself :P The seafood bowl and the meat platter was definitely the most value for money but the Christmas feast is not for everybody. The Hub who was more of a Chinese cuisine type of dude did seem to enjoy it a little less. You can also opt for takeaway options (including orders for turkey and log cakes).

While you are there, do set aside some time to explore the place because Sofitel is gorgeous. Once you step in, you do have a resort vibe. Even though I was only there for a meal, I do feel I have stepped out of Singapore and is on vacation. As we were walking away some calories, I managed to capture some nice shots :P

If you still have your Rediscover Singapore vouchers, you may consider using it here. For families, you can consider the Infinite Family Experiences which includes kids acitivities and full dining experiences. For couples, do consider the Retreat to Sanctuary which looks super shiok. Final tip for those without cars: There is a shuttle bus to Sofitel from Harbourfront MRT station. :D
