Croon: Angel Puffs that save skin

This is a really special package I am endorsing today. I finally got about to using my Croon Puffs. We were actually excited to try it out because this product made cleansing so simple and fuss-free. It is really quite amazing because this product doesn't require you to use any other soaps or chemical to see the effect.

You may not know, but for the longest time I was having quite bad break-out :( It was acne eruptions after pimple attacks. I am not sure whether was it stress, diet or just pure bad luck. So, I stopped washing my face for a while (eww...right!)

To be frank with you guys, this post was supposed to a "his-hers" lovey-dovey concept. But the hubs went ahead to use his puff first because I was moping around too much at my failure to control my skin condition. It was a good thing he started first because his clearer skin and his comments about the soft puff was what made me risk it all with my face.

And I am proud to announce after using Croon Puffs for 2-3 days, my face showed significant improvement. Apart from the initial difficulty of finding a place to hang them for drying, I love how easy it is to use them. Just wash your face using a circular motion! The daily cleansing angel puff is extremely soft and gentle for the skin.

Here's a video that can better show you guys how to use the puffs. The exfoliator puffs are a bit rougher and is meant to be used once a week. When you rub it against your skin, it feels like a nice massage...hehe. And if you noticed closely, the design of the exfoliator angel puffs do not have stripes design. If you don't like the colours I picked, there are other vibrant colours available too.

Was doing some quick mental sums and I reckon as long as the puffs can last 1-2 months, it is easily a more affordable option compared to the pricer facial foam. But compared to the drugstore facial foam, the angel puffs might slightly be more painful on the pockets. However, if your skin is sensitive, the puffs may be a better option as you can slowly wean your skin off its reliance on chemical products. Now that I am more confident with my skin, here's some close-ups of me with my savior puffs :D

Strongly recommend this product, I am so happy my skin looks good again :D

Organic Lipbalm from Handmade by Mirth

It has been a while since I am crazy and biased towards organic products. Personally, I feel that you don't see the effects immediately when you use all-natural products but in the long run, you will find the inner radiance slowly glowing. Currently, I am still using a mixture of natural and chemical products to maintain the overall looks and not be stripped off my unnatural shine.
As far as Singapore is concerned, organic products are way more expensive, simply because we don't have a big enough consumer base. And so, many of such brands or handmade products will have to be imported. The cost of shipping is simply what jack up the prices.
Handmade by Mirth
I was pretty excited when I came across Handmade by Mirth. Firstly, it is really rare to come across handmade lip balms made in Singapore. Secondly, the packaging looks really decent in the photos. Thirdly, there is a good variety. Last but not least, the price is reasonable.
And so I thought, I must definitely give this a go and let you readers know more about this. I am sure some of you only use organic products. And if Handmade by Mirth proves to be a good alternative, you might save some money!
Mini Organic Lip BalmI tried out their mini collection. Just to let you see how cutely tiny it is, I compared it with the size of my hand. Haha. Even though the whole tube has been shrunk, the twisting mechanism was working fine. Tried twisting it up and down a few times. (I came across handmade brand overseas, but the tube was kinda of rudimentary. It could only go up :( ) But Handmade by Mirth's worked perfect.
Even their namecards were made tiny. #cute. I thought the size was perfect because I get tired of using the same tube after a while. I end up chalking my fridge with lots of my used balm. (Freezing it makes it last longer). For me, this size could be more value for money. (S$6 versus S$10 regular size). Plus I think they make great X'mas gifts!
Organic Lipbalm Singapore
Generally, the lip balms are pretty good. The application was really smooth and it kept my lips well moistured. I like how some of the scent lingered around my lips. :D I don't use it with lipsticks so I comment on the layering with lipsticks.
Given the price and the quality, I have to say this Singapore brand is comparable to any other overseas handmade brand. I am proud to say "I am pretty satisfied."
Fresh Vanilla
I thought I might share with you my views on the different flavours available as well. *Preferences may differ with each individual.* My least favourite was the French Vanilla. I found the scent a little too strong for my liking. It was very fragrant but I was just not used to such strong tasting lip balm.
Organic lipbalm Singapore
My favourite was these 3. Maybe I like more fruity stuff, though Lavender isn't exactly a fruit. I am currently using the watermelon one the most cos I find it more unique than passionfruit. How many other brands have Watermelon lip balms!!!
I really like the lavender one too, however I think it could be an acquired taste. Don't think it is a masses scent. It is either you love it or hate it. And I obviously love it. The passionfruit and watermelon scent would suit any of you who love fruity balms. Hopefully, it doesn't keep your tummy rumbling all day. It does taste and smell pretty yummy!
Organic Lip Balm
If you like something more subtle, I would strongly recommend the Aloe Vera and the Original. You won't feel hungry with these 2 cos I find them scentless.
If you want to get yourself one to try out or a set of minis, you can visit Handmade by Mirth. You can customise your name on it too for an additional $2. (Bridemaid's gifts anyone?) They have bulk orders special price as well. Alternatively, you can always e-mail Han at handmadebymirth@gmail.com

Review: Pucker Up to nice lips

I have rarely shared about lip care with you people, it is actually part of oral hygiene. So to start off 2015, we will start off with a review on Pucker.
I received it before Chirstmas, so my package was rather Christmasy, with a nice Father Claus that came along with it which was so very cute. <3
Pucker
I met up with their owners, the pretty Reena and the founder Shaune to understand the collection better and pick my favourite few. Honestly, I was quite surprised that the initial owner behind Pucker was a guy. For me, it is quite unthinkable that guys are interested in lip care.
The 2 of them have a lot of ideas to develop the business, so apart from lip care, I won't be surprised I would be reviewing other products from them in future. And for you girls and guys who are very interested in natural, organic cosmetics, you should totally follow them on Instagram or Facebook, so that you are always updated.
Hurraw With regards to the flavour that you would like, you should totally visit at the flea to test them out. Cos different individuals vary, I generally had a liking to the popular ones but some of them was a little too overpowering for me so it is really important you find your match. Do note that all of them have a seal. Make sure it is unbroken before you use it. :)
The 4 that I reviewed are:
1. Crazy Rumors Bunny Leaping Bunny - I chose it cos I like bunnies and the name sounded so cute. It is actually basically Plum Apricot so it is a fruity fragrance type which I usually go for. <3
2. Crazy Rumors Hibiskiss - It is a very typical smell for lip balms. But this one is the only tinted one among the four. It has a rash red (the middle of the square box) with some shimmer so it is very natural looking. It is my staple when I am feeling a little more fancy.
3. Hurraw Sun Balm - Also another of my staple when I don't want too much attention on my lips. This one comes with SPF 15, so it can protects my lips from the strong uv rays. It has a very citrus taste. So hurray.
4. Hurraw - Earl Grey Lip Balm - It is probably my favourite among them all. Honestly, I think it is quite suitable for guys cos the packaging doesn't look too gay and it taste elegant. It is something I would apply on my BF's lips cos I wanna taste it when I kiss it. HAHAHA!
LipScrub
So the last product I reviewed was the lip scrub. It was very tasty and sweet. The sugar grains are exactly the fine type but when you rub it against your lips, it doesn't hurt at all. After using it, there is some sort of numbing effect but they would feel softer and smoother. It is like giving your lips a nice lip spa...
Because it kinda taste really good, there is a real possibility that anyone might just eat it instead of use it. Lol.
Vainity Bag
Haha, my little bag I have in my handbag. My Travalo Perfume Holder, tiny fan (so aunty) Haha, face mask (for bad smog days) and 2 nice lip goodness!

Review: Organic Lip-smacking goodness

I am not sure if I have shared with you this dirty...okay not that dirty...little secret of mine. But ever since 2013, I have been...well somewhat obsessed with lip balms.  Yup, I love how colourless it is and how natural it looks since lip balms don't taint my lips. :)
oh organics
The lovely Michele from Oh Organics has kindly sent a bubblegum and honey peach lip balms along with Melissa Moisturizer Sample for review. Thank you so much for your thoughtful little message and the nice packaging. I am so glad I am the first in town to be doing a review!

If you are a hot bait target of mosquitoes, you must try out the Melissa Moisturiser range. The lemon grass smell is pretty strong and this keeps mozzies at bay. So if you ain't a fan of lemon grass, you probably won't like this product.
Texture wise, it is pasty and not sticky at all. It spreads well around the back of my hand. But the smell is pretty strong, even after washing my hands for a few times, the smell still lingers.
BubblePresenting to you the product that excites me the most - the bubblegum lip balm. Omg it really does deliciously smell and taste like a bubblegum. Makes me drool. Considering Singapore has banned all gums, this is really the closest you will ever get to having a gum near your lips. :)
I really love it! And it is rather cheap too :p
broken
But unfortunately, my tube was faulty. It could twist up but had issues twisting back down. Mum told me you gotcha push it a little. I applied a light force and...it broke on me. I think my heart broke with it too cos I really love the bubblegum lip balm. :(
The other tube was fine though. I guess I am just unlucky...real unfortunate. :(
peacj
The second lip balm was of honey and peach. I actually am quite a fan the 2 ingredients but not so much when they are mixed together. I still prefer bubblegum. But my Mum preferred this saying it tasted more natural.
Generally both lip balms are not sticky at all and apply pretty smoothly on the lips. They don't leave much residue and looks natural in a sense that no one would know you have applied anything on your lips if you don't self-declare haha!
If you wanna get some organic balms or handmade soaps for yourself, do remember to check out Oh Organics and show Michele some love!
