Happy Ears: Melike & Fae

Was feeling quite ill for the longest while, but I thought I shouldn't really stay down and glum forever. I am still in quite a bit of pain and have seen 3 doctors in the last week for different medical opinions. I hope it is nothing serious, so pray for me guys!

But meanwhile, to cheer myself up, I decided to do a review. It has been a while since we last did that. I have some clothes coming in soon, but I thought let's do the accessories by Melike & Fae first :D When I am feeling better, I will do a whole look!

I am not sure whether it is an age thing, but I am starting to like my classy looks. I am absolutely in love with this pair cos it has my 2 favourite colours aqua and pink! Usually these colours look a bit childish but I love how this design managed to pull out the glam in it. <3

I have an overseas wedding coming up soon, so I am pretty sure this piece is going with me to **** **** (not disclosing the location yet so stay tune!). I am not too keen about bringing real gems but was initially rather worried how am I at least going to look presentable.... Guess this solves everything!

My grandma has something like this! That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this. Part of me was really excited with twining with my grandma (I hope that doesn't sound weird to you guys) There was a time when such designs were really trendy and flooded the jewelry shop. It is a lesser sight now, sadly.

But I am sure we can bring this trend back in. I love the amount of detail which is put into this piece. Usually, most shops would only stamped a design on one side. This one has a dual design so you can wear it your way, however you like it! CNY piece for sure, I am sure grandma will be pleased!

And yea, tassels again. This is a shorter piece and is easier on my ears (not as heavy) hehe. By the way, Melike & Fae holds a whole series of different coloured tassels. They are so bright and pretty, makes me wanna get one of each. Ooops...Hehe. Happy ears; cheery life.

Compared to the other stores I have reviewed, Melike & Fae's price is in the higher range. But in terms of quality and design, it is truly a notch above the rest. The pieces are something you can wear for more formal events and is more age-appropriate for young women. I can't wait for the next series to be out!

The Princess and her Bling: Shinine Designs

B612
Procrastination at work, received it after I came home from Korea, but only write about it now. :(
If the design of your blings matter a whole lot to you, you will be in love with Shinine Designs. Like many other online hobbist, Angeline, the owner does customisation for bracelets, necklaces, key rings, rings etc. However, what really set her merchandise apart from the others is the design.
Shinine Designs
This is just a light teaser of what she has on her site. The biggest issue you might face is that she doesn't repeat any of her designs. I was so in love with the purple earrings but once it is sold, it will never be replicated. You don't risk the danger of a fashion clash on the street but you might suffer from heartbreak if your fingers are too slow.
Overall, her designs are dainty, classy and very elegant. You can proudly wear them to functions without feeling cheap (even though the price leans towards cheap for such design intricacy) or under-dressed.
Shinine
I received a jade version of the purple "rose" earring. Jade leans towards the mature side while purple is more flirty. But nonetheless, I still adore the "jade" earrings simply because it is still breathetakingly gorgeous and it is probably more value for money in the long-run since I can wear it till I am a mature woman!
The necklace in comparison has a simpler design. But what really makes it looks more expensive than it is, is the little pearl at the clasp. I am not sure if you all noticed, but brands that are not run of the mill usually has a little pearl at the clasp or the zip. :)
Happy Customer
Usually, the rule of thumb I use to gauge how appealing the accessories and apparels are, are by the feedback I received and how unbecoming my Mum would suddenly become. If she starts coming up with bullshit like confiscating the piece for her own, you know this is one gem.
In fact, she even wants to replace the piece with real precious stones cos she thinks it is worth it. Pardon, if I sound like an over-zealous evangelist of Shinine Designs, that is cos I love their work and design really a lot. Hope you too appreciate the quality of their handmade blings.

Review: Jar of Jubbs

If you realised a certain trend by now, I have been working a lot more closely with Singapore artisans as well as small companies :)
Partially, it is to show my support for local products, I know it is not easy to start-up and any exposure is always good :) Also, I love nothing more than customised products :)
Jar of Jubbs
You know, lately I am into unicorn and anything mystical. So when I came across, Jar of Jubbs, they had this collection of whimsical stuff that I must review them for you.
They have like cute little robots, mystical droplets, Aladdin's lamp, they just opened a whole new world, didn't they...(laughing at my own bad pun)
JoJ
I am sure you guys must be curious what Jubbs stand for (it reminds me of Jub Jub from Hi5 Hehe). It actually means Jewellery & Unique Bits and Bobs. Each little trinklet is passionately made. The collection mainly consist of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, key chains and also lanyard straps. You could either get those pre-made or assembled to your own desire. :)
I must have been a good girl this year cos Christmas just came early for me. I was sponsored some nice candy canes, a good luck four leaves clover and a bracelet inspired by nature.
Bunny Model
Yup, for the first time in ForFunk history, it is my bunnies doing the review. Surprise Surprise, maybe next time round it would be my unicorn. Lol. Okay, she was sitting down there giving me the, "Let me review it please" look. I couldn't reject her.
As you can see, my cheeky little bunnies have arranged my candy earrings into a lovely heart shape (if you can see it). The candy are shimmery and very gorgeous. They came with the plastic stud at the back which I really appreciated.
The 4 leaf clover necklace as you can see came with different details on the back and the front. This means dual use :P The bracelet came with 5 charms. Honestly, for the price, 5 charms is super worth it!!
2014 Christmas Collection
The Christmas collection is also now up and available. Generally, the prices are very reasonable, roughly between $3 to max $12. So they make really good gifts for colleagues and friends. You don't have to worry about breaking your wallet yet not look like a cheapskate *Thumbs up*
And to make sure you really have a lovely Christmas, for my readers only, you are going to get an additional 10% off and free postage if you quote "ChaaYen" for any online orders from now till 25 December. (Sometimes, I really don't think it is fair you guys are riding on my success..sigh)

Pretty Little Deeds: Preetdeets

Hello, as promised, I am really active :) Now, I am back with thin bracelets (very suitable for ladies who have tiny or small wrists) which can be used for stacking.
Preetdeets3Check these out, gorgeous isn't it? These are pearl bracelets with charms and Suede Braidlets with charms! If you are like gushing, you just have to read on~!
Sweet, delicate and dainty - 3 words would pretty much sum up the review I have for you today!
Preetdeets2
So check out what I received in my mail from Preetdeets:) My 3 bracelets came in separate ziplock bags and are of different character and style so that they can be worn for different occasions.
I won't suggest stacking bracelets of different styles together though. For example, in my opinion, the 2 suede braidlets would totally look good together. The silver charm on the other hand would look better with the pearl and and charms cos it is too demure to go the kick-ass braidlets.
Preetdeets
The standard measurement would be 14" in length. However, you can always customised to suit your wrist if you prefer it to be hung loose. (I think it looks better tight though:P)
These are how the bracelets look when they are on my wrist. They are all pretty in their own ways. The coloured suede was a clip-on and had 3 charms on it - Eiffel Tower, London plate and passport, reflecting the wanderlust in me. The Navy charm had a very unique anchor hook. I super love the anchor hook! The silver bracelet is extremely stretchy and it is the sweetest among them all. I don't know why but I find this a perfect gift for a newborn girl cos there was something small and delicate about it. Also, on it hung a charm, "made with love" ... :P
You will probably be seeing me wearing more of it in my other reviews as well. And yes that's my laptop bag hehehe! I will be linking their website here. But do check out their Carousell and Instagram cos they show a lot more designs!@Preetdeets. They are very affordable too, so don't give them a miss :)
I have so much more to share, and a giveaway coming right up too :P :P :P Don't miss that one ok?

Make a Statement - Totally Jewel

You know, when they say that the accessories will either bring out or break the look, it is absolutely true. For working executives out there, if you have a nice statement piece or chunky accessories matched with a simple little black dress, it can really make you look professional and stand out.
Courtesy of Totally Jewel, I have 3 pieces of jewelry that will help me prove my point. :)
Packaging
If you are not really that tech savvy, the Totally Jewel site is really easy to navigate. I am not really some online guru, so if I can do it, I am pretty sure you will have no issues trying to make your purchase.
It came by post in a water-proof package *Thumbs-up* And was neatly wrapped in tracing paper which was further protected by bubble wrap. Needless to say, my accessories came in good condition which left me happy and pleased.
Welding
Check out the pieces I picked (actually my BF picked them from my shortlisted few)!!! I am really in love with the White Belt Bracelet. The clasp is really special. I have a belt ring too. Too bad, I doubt they will go well together since they are of a different style. The Coco's Lover Necklace looks totally sophisticated and really classy.
I received the cuff too. It is a really lovely design and wrapped itself snugly around my arm. Unfortunately the welding was not really well done. A little of a dampener. But a comforting fact - it is not really that visible unless you look particularly close at it.
Ready for Work
For my early morning, rise and shine look, I paired up the Coco's Lover Necklace with the White Belt Bracelet. It adds a demure touch to the power woman get-up brought up from the little black dress. White, Gold and Black, I always feel that this is the perfect colour combination of the corporate get-up. Whatya think?
Night
After a hard day at work, the cuff would add a touch of fun to parteh all night long. I thought it was easy. Just a change of the cuff and va-va-voom the whole look changes. From professional executive to a sleek wild animal. And it is not that heavy to put a cuff and bracelet in your bag...Tee-Hee
Tone down sea shellsIt was not really until the end of the photo-shoot I realize the back of the necklace looked like pretty little seashells. Geez, 2 necklaces for the price of 1, good deal isn't it? Can actually use the back of the necklace if I wanted to opt for a more understated, tone down look :) And before I forget, sign up with Totally Jewel, and you will get a 10 dollars off voucher!
Honestly, their stuff are very lovely and their price is even lovelier if there is such a word...haha...so do stock up at Totally Jewel if you need some embellishment to give your boring ole closet a little omph. Cheers to another workday :)
