Acne 101: Hiruscar Anti Acne Range

I thought I would share with you a little on some new skincare products I am trying. Within 2 days, these products from Hiruscar promises to let you see acne improvement. In the Hiruscar Anti Acne Range, there are 3 products namely the cleanser, serum & spot gel.

And my 2 favourites are the cleanser and spot gel. After using the products for 2 days, I do see lightening of the angry red bumps and lessening of the pimples on the forehead. Overall, my skin feel more refreshed and less oily!

Hiruscar Anti Acne Pore Purifying Cleanser

This is the first step of the whole process. You simply have to massage the gel on the face and rinse thoroughly! The gel is a transparent liquid and quite watery. It smells really light and when you wash your face with it, I felt it was very gentle to the skin. After using it, I felt refreshed and my skin was less oily. But at the same time, it didn't feel like all the oil was stripped off it.

MPS (Mucopolysaccharide polysulphate) - Maintains skin moisture
Moringa Seed Extract - Removes impurities & protects skin from pollutants

Hiruscar Anti Acne Pore Purifying Serum

The next step is to tone and moisturise. Personally, I like this product the last among the 3 simply because it has this strong herbal smell. But, for a lazy person, I like that the toning and moisturising steps are combined. (So basically, you only have 2 steps twice a day!)  And I also do appreciate that the moisturiser did not cause any further break outs. Cos usually that happens to me!

Hiruscar Anti Acne Spot Gel

This is an optional step and would depends whether you have pimples. I had one really big one on my cheek so I decided to try it out since I have heard a lot of good things about it in the market. Basically, this is an transparent gel that you apply on affected areas.  The redness as promised lightened within 2 days. The bump grew smaller but did not completely disappear yet.

Wild Wild Wet: Double the Wow

The June Holidays are here. And I thought I would take this opportunity to share with you guys a promotion at Wild Wild Wet. Dress identically and you can get twice the the excitement at half the price at Downtown East! Just in case, you think that twinning might be silly, my family and I did the quadruplets. And it was a real good bonding experience.

Just in case you are wondering, my family and I have never been to Wild Wild Wet. And I am very glad I brought them along instead of my friends. Because my parents were so excited about this outing. (Guess I should really plan more fun activities for my family next time.) My Dad was doing so much research work and my Mum actually packed our swimsuits and was so eager to coordinate our attires for the day. (-_-)''

Because we have been to Wild Wild Wet, I can't share with you the difference. But I do know that there is one new feature which I will be talking about later. And it is definitely a lot more fun than I expected. I always thoughtWild Wild Wet was more of a "family theme park" so I was quite surprised to find myself screaming in some of the rides. Gosh.

I didn't try anything in the Kidz Zone. Apart from those under construction, I pretty much tried out all the other rides. Hehe. My personal favourite is the Royal Flush. I think I took it 3-4 times and each time I screamed my heads off. OMFG. If you are into something more exciting, try the Torpedo or Slide Up. But Torpedo isn't for everyone, it was too frightening for screams.

And tada, presenting the new ride - The Woosh. Just in case you are wondering why are my legs so hairy, it is my bro's la! (Or you can sponsor me for leg hair removal, I wouldn't mind. Hehe!) The Woosh is 50m long, being Singapore’s Longest Inflatable Freestyle Water Slide at Wild Wild Wet.

It is a ride that young kids can enjoy so don't expect it to be too exciting. My observation is that older kids ain't too excited about it. But kids on the other hand are crazy for it. Apart from Kidz Zone, this is another feature that they can independently have some fun in. Being an inflatable slide, it is really a safe joyride for them :D

Before I forget, here's the photo of the Seeing Double Campaign, where the member of the public were invited to join. With 111 pairs of twinning people, I am guessing we managed to set the Singapore Book of Records for the 'Largest Gathering of Dress Alike Duos'! Does it mean I am living down in history? Lol!

Honestly, there are so many people I can't even spot myself OMG! To up the fun, there were even stage games that day. My sporting Mum and Bro happily participated in the first game and even took my Dad's underwear up on stage much to the amusement of the audience. Hehe.

If you don't want to keep climbing up and down the rides to deposit your handphones and specs, don't bring them up the rides! I didn't know and we had to climb down. This rule pretty much applies for the more thrilling features. Want photos? Take Shiok River or Tsunami!

A special mention to Shiok River because it is really as shiok as its name. It was just so therapeutic drifting. It took me a while before I could control the currents around the float. But it was really great to leave life to maneuver on its own as you focus on the little things around you.

I guess I am going to end off with an overall verdict of this place: A ball of fun for the family. You can bring the young and old in the family. And this is a really affordable, nice place for secondary class outing. I still remember those days where budget for fun is real tight!) :P

Karmart Asian Beauty Blogger #KarmartABBCbysamplestore

Yikes, this was supposed to be a review contest video for Kartmart Asian Beauty Blogger. Haha. Because I was so nervous I think I was babbling a bit and I think I might just miss out some vital information. The sound system really isn't that good because my silly computer was growling away. Sad :( I really need videography lessons hor.

So just in case you guys didn't heard me loud enough or need more information on the products I am using. Here is a supplementary blog post as well. Cathy Doll is a brand well suited for modern young females. I really think they are talking about me when they speak about the iconic character as a trendy, chic and easy going ladies who love traveling, learning and shopping and beauty stories!!!

1. Ready 2 White 2 in 1 Bubble Mousse Cleanser

I guess this is what they are describing when they say - pretty in pink huh. And this is the fruit I am talking about - Pomegranate. I seriously hope I pronounced it right in the video. Like I said I have the one without the brush, there is some down-side to the brush though, it drips a little. 

But still I like it with the brush cos it is really soft and it is like massaging my face. I would really recommend this product if you are looking for a cleanser. I always feel so fresh and cherry after using it. And the smell is fruitily heavenly. 

2. Invisible Sun Protection + CC Cream

So on the left you have the invisible Sun Protection and on the right you have the CC cream. The sun block is really good if you don't like oily and sticky products. The invisible sun Protection is very light and easy to apply. For special days, you may want to try the CC Cream which provides pretty good coverage.

Considering all the products are very affordable, I would recommend you to try it out if you have a really tight budget. Everything Thai, everything good (like me)! Hehe. 

3. Argan Oil Hair Essence Mist

Hair oil is especially good if you have curls. This is a little different from the normal oil we know because it is watery and not as oily. It is good for bedtime. :D But I personally think that the oily version works better if you want to maintain your curls. Watery version probably wont cause unnecessary pimple. 

This product smells amazing as well. For any of you who wants to save water (since there is a price hike), you can use this instead. Haha. I am not very sure how to describe the smell. Guess you guys need to go down to BHG to smell it yourself :D

So here's some information on Cathy aka me Lol! Kidding. This brand expresses the daring aspect of feminity. Think of a girl with burning passion, optimistic, playful and open-minded. All this can be seen from the packaging right! Haha. With such a charming personality, no wonder I, I mean she is getting all the attention.

So the brand not only has facial care, it also branches into hair care and even make-up.:D As mentioned it is a Thai brand but is Korean inspired. Hopefully, I get short-listed to join the next round so that I get a chance to go for the videography workshop and from there make better beauty videos for you readers!

Sample Store First Beauty Show

Hello people, for the first time, we will be having a guest post. Hehe. And it is none other from my Mum. Yeap, that's because I am busy with school assignments. So she stand in for a few of my events. :D

Dear readers, I am Chaa's mummy. Chaa was very busy with school assignments that week so I stood in to attend Sample Store's first every Beauty Show on her behalf. It was lonely without Chaa because usually we would support Sample Store events together. 

Unlike the previous events we attended, the vendors that day do not sell any of their products. You needed to go online to purchase them. When I send Chaa the photos, she immediately asked about Mollifix. She was disappointed she couldn't get them under Mummy's expense. Heng never 破财！

This daughter of mine did not tell me that there would be so many 明星 there. I don't know that they are the contestants for SING!China Season 2 Singapore Selections. I saw many people trying to get their signature. I just followed suit. :)

My favourite segment was the makeup demo by Candy Tiong. It was very informative and I considered buying some of the products she used. I do feel younger and more in tune after learning about the beauty trends and meeting the 明日之星！

Despite being a little outdated, I recognised the host - Hossan Leong. Hossan was very witty and injected a lot of humour. I don't usually like to take photo. Since Hossan was very friendly and I managed to find a kind passer-by to help me take a photo, I decided to make an exception.

When I was home, Chaa asked me why it wasn't a selfie. I wanted a clear photo and usually the resolution for the front camera is poorer. Chaa seems very impressed with my knowledge on phone photography. Doesn't she know I have observed her enough to pick up a skill or 2?

To make her feel poorly that she has missed this interesting event, I even took my first food photo and sent it to her. The food by Carnivore Brazilian Churrascaria at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands looks good and taste good.

Chaa was very annoyed she didn't get to try the food, but that's just too bad. She did comment that I have some skills in food photography. Another thing she doesn't know is that her brother can in fact take better photos than her. I have also learnt some techniques from the young man. Mums can be very talented too!

Since I went on her behalf, I got her goodie bag too. For the first time, I have the first pick of the products I wanted. :) I pitied her so I gave her the notebook which looked like the envelope so that she can write her homework in it. 

Hossan shared with us that the Destino Advance Repairing Soap from Beauty Keeper is very effective, so I am looking forward to using it. Maybe it will make me look 10 years younger. :) I hope you enjoy reading the review. 

Christmas Version: Top 3 Products of Beauty Keeper

Now that I have tried out some of the products from Beauty Keeper gifted on Giftopia, I will now share with you my Top 3 favourite products in their box. If you would like to try them out, you can visit their website as they are on sale there as well. :)

1. Minorca Ideal Flawless Beauty Cushion

By now, it is really no secret that this is my favourite product in the box. Any time you see my face with make-up, I am using this foundation. I like it cos it provides really good coverage. It is quite easy to apply even for a novice like me. Even without a powder to finish and set it, I think it still look very good.

Maybe it is because I have no particular preference for foundation as long as it covers the uneven shade and makes my skin looks flawless. Haha. Plus, despite being rather fair, it is of my shade. :D

2. Camellia Essential Intensive Hair Oil

The thing about curls, it is really a lot harder to maintain. And so for the first time in my life, I actually had hair tangles. Of course, it didn't happen overnight. For a month or so, I slacken on my conditioner and even didn't bother to comb my hair. My hair tangles were so bad my Dad actually asked me to cut my hair. But I didn't want to cos this meant that the curls would be cut off too.

So, I ransacked the Beauty Keeper Box and decided to try out the hair oil since there is nothing to lose really. And 3 days later, still without conditioner but I combed my hair once a day, my curls revived. :D

Generally, my hair responds very well to oil. So I can't entirely be sure how much the Camellia Essential Intensive Hair Oil played a part in it. But I like the product for its sweet, olive smell and its small packaging. Comparatively to other hair oil products in the market, it is a lot more portable and easier to slip in the bag.

The price however is on the steep side so I use it sparingly. And it doesn't help that my thirty hair keeps absorbing the oil at an exorbitant rate. But I have to say, it does provide a nice shine to my hair and gave more bounce to my hair. Is it the power of hair oil or just this particular hair oil? I really don't know, at least it saved my locks from a tangled mess.

3. Eyes Light

So this year was not a year where my beauty and health basically took a bad toll, too much stress maybe. I was thought my waist was the most beautiful part of me, and then it accumulated a protected ring of fats. So I decided my dimple was my best feature and then I lost my smile and it grew less defined. I then moved on to my expressive eyes, since I am always proud of how little eye wrinkles I have.

And then, the crow eyes slowly became more visible. It was as though every thing I like about myself would crumble against the test of time. Maybe I should just like my belly button (And then it will get dirty.) I only tried the Eyes Light cos I heard it was good. And it is really not bad. It made my weary eyes looked less tired and contained the wrinkles. My only grouse was that it squirts out too much product at each pump. Grr.

Coincidentally, I realized my favourite products are the same as the popular at Beauty Keeper. Hehe. I still have some products I have yet to tried. Will comment on them maybe next month. I only got one face la. I can't possibly try that many at a go right! Must finish one by one especially if they are of the same function.

So every year, they would have a major "event" or "revamp" that is really exciting! There will always be new sponsors and new products to look out for. So when Giftopia was launched, I was literally over the moon and was waiting for the day to come. 

So early morning, I eagerly went for the launch. There were so many things to do and products to check out. There were new beauty box launches and many of my favourite "overseas" brands available for sales. And...there were also some new products that I was unfamiliar with that made me burn in curiosity.

Apart from stalls that are selling products, there were booths set up for beautiful temporary hand-drawn tattoos and manicures <3 I also watched an interview. Now then I know that you don't really have to speak very loudly and the mic can actually block out noises. I expected the host to be shouting. LOL #shallow.

There were a lot more variety this time round with handmade products, accessories etc and they are going at amazing discounts!!! Personally, I like having other stalls that are not beauty-related around. Sometimes, not all your girlfriends may be into beauty products so having stalls that branch out into other genres can keep them entertained.

Perhaps we should also have some side stalls for boyfriends too HAHA. I saw a few bored spouses as their women browse through the cutest handcreams, latest shampoos and gorgeous make-up products. Car maintenance stalls next?!?

And if you are going tomorrow, please do not bring too much things. You don't even have to bring your own bags cos a tote bag will be thoughtfully provided. With face masks, sun blocks, serums etc., I think I have gotten most of my beauty needs covered for the next year LOL. Pretty excited about testing them out!

Which is why I think all ladies should join Sample Store. This are all the potential samples that you may get to try out. Most of them, the products I try out are mostly sample size. But there are times you may retail-sized products. And before I go overseas, I would always redeem the sample sized products because they are cheaper than the travel sized products sold in pharmaceutical stores. (For less than S$5, you can choose up to 4 samples!!)

Check out some of the post cards I got myself!!! So, you may be wondering by now if Giftopia is the giving of samples and discounts.  Nopeeeee..it is actually a project to bring back the joy of sending postcards. I live in more of an era where technology rules. The only time I sent postcards home was when I was overseas. But I do enjoy writing letters/ emails. :D

They have really nice designs and I really love the cards with meaningful quotes because even if you don't send them out, you could always frame them as mini motivational posters :)

Good Oral Hygiene with Playbrush

I came across this article and was shocked that more than half of the kids in Singapore has one or more rotten teeth by the time they are 7. That seems a lot!!! I think in my lifetime, I only had one rotten milk teeth. Thankfully, after I rid that ugly rotten, black thing off my mouth, I have since maintained nice, beautiful healthy pearly whites. :)

But, naive me, just because it is milk teeth doesn't mean the impact isn't permanent. The bacteria from the milk teeth can also affect the development of their adult molars! I don't have kids myself, but I think what my Mum did right when I was a kid was making brushing a habit. Twice a day, one before bedtime and one when you wake up. It is just a routine that sticks with time.

Nowadays with technology, brushing is made fun. During my time, I remember brushing a model of the mouth, that resembled a lot like the Joker. Maybe that's the reason why most kids and even dentist hate going to dentist. Talk about long-life trauma.

The big kid in me received a Playbrush to have a go. They have it in blue and pink, for both the little boys and little girls. The packaging look both cute and resonates with the inner Geek in me. It really look like some cool gadget yea.

I opened the box and expected complicated wires. But, basically the Playbrush is only made of 3 simple parts. o.O And it is pretty intuitive to use. A bawling child may possibly charge it himself or herself. So you pretty have to charge the bottom white portion using the USB. It will blink red when it is charging and will be fully red when fully charged.

You have to download "Utoothia" on your phone and turn on your bluetooth. To connect the Playbrush to your brush, you just have to give it a few happy flings till the bottom turn orange and you are good and ready to be a brave soldier for the gorgeous Tooth Fairy.

And it has also include some storytelling elements for the children. I tried out the game myself. While killing some monsters, I found myself brushing my teeth the proper way. That's great cos I didn't like it when the dental nurse in my Primary School barked at me to brush Joker's teeth right. Had to brush it umpteen times until she was satisfied. 

The good thing is that the game distracts the child from noticing how tedious it is to brush their teeth. It is particularly useful for kids who detest brushing their teeth. Now instead of this annoying thing they have to do each night, it becomes a mission to clean their teeth.

Game-wise, the graphics were awesome. It is rather repetitive so the kids can get the hang of it fast. But I think this Playbrush could also do a version for adults, simply because I know of too many people who are rather old around me who also don't like to brush their teeth. Particularly guys I know seem to have a thing against good oral hygiene.

For them, I would suggest Counter Strike kinda of game-play. Hopefully, that will get the big boys I know back into the game. There are scores and achievements that the child can obtain. So hurray, cos this would encourage the kids to brush their teeth better. 

With this video, you can see like the kid looks like she is just brushing her teeth normally and correctly. But in her eyes, she sees herself completing mission and having a sense of achievement after each brush! So, that is basically what Playbrush is.

Stay Safe (from the sun rays): Use Protection

I can go out with a bare face. But I always try to refrain from stepping out of the house without sunblock. By now, I am sure many of you know how damaging the sun is to your skin. Today, I have a new sunscreen to introduce to you. Sorry for the sexy header. Just couldn't resist it.

Before I go straight for the reveal, let me share with you some of its benefits to entice you:

• the dominant tanning ray.
• penetrate through glass. This means that even when you’re seeking shelter indoors, your skin continues to be exposed to its harmful effects (Never ever fighting for the window seats again!)

UVB Rays

• cause the most damage to the outer layer of skin such as reddening of skin and sunburns
• prolonged exposure to UVB rays can cause long-term damage to skin’s epidermal layers

I have my own personal favourites when it comes to sunscreen. The Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel doesn't fare too bad in comparison but it doesn't have any cosmetics effects. So in that area, I would rank it lower. But it definitely a lot more affordable than the current one I am using. Mai hiam bui pai liao!

If you want to stay youthful for a longer period of time, please use protection (sounds like condom advert). With a sunscreen, it can prevent the cumulative damage such as wrinkling and skin ageing. Reivew: Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover

Feeling pretty excited about this highly acclaimed make-up remover because there is so much reviews about how good it is. I am sure you girls probably must have heard of this product before :)

Presenting the all new Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover! It is called jelly for a reason cos it feels like one! Despite its lighter consistency, this makeup remover has a super high cleansing ability that effortlessly dissolves and lifts more makeup in a gentle glide. It is suitable for types of sensitive skin so don't worry if you have sensitive skin!

I have not used the old product before but this new one is touted to be an improved formula made with 40% more moisturising essence nourishes and hydrates skin for a dewy finish. The jelly-like texture is smoother and gentler on skin. It rinses off easily and quickly without any harsh tugging or pulling action on skin. The high cleansing ability dissolves and lifts of all traces of makeup effortlessly. 2-3 pumps and a good rinse is all I need.

I don't put make-up that much often to begin with, so I chose to use it to remove the makeup from my make-over session. And it is frigging a lot of layers. I think I look like I have been totally filtered, but nope. Now comparing to my naked face, I look so shagged. It is true makeup does wonders but the after effects seems like a blow on my esteem.

Overall, I think this remover is a 1-go wonder. It causes a lot less damage to the skin without all the rinsing and re-rinsing! Retailing at S$24.90 at all leading supermarkets, personal care stores and western pharmacies & departmental stores. I think I can use it to remove the dust on my face too, considering the haze.

1. Blow drying: Heat damage/friction from blow drying The process of blow-drying removes moisture from the hair, both outside and inside the hair - leaving hair dry, brittle and susceptible for further damage

Lately, my hair have been highly unmanageable (God knows why). Everyone who sees me simply just accuse me of not combing my hair. :( Actually it is cos sometimes I am too tired I fall asleep before my hair is completely dry. And so, I wake up with nice wavy hair (IMO), but everyone thinks it is just a mess.

So what on earth is the cause?

Some of you may have heard of Pillow Friction. It is the friction between your hair and the pillow when you toss and turn at night. It causes the cuticles to be misaligned, creating frizz creates frizz, resulting in a fabulous lion’s mane the next morning! My trademark!

Essential Night Care Milk (Used on the left) : It is used to protect your hair from pillow friction by leaving a protective coat around each hair strand and prevent misaligned cuticles when hair rubs against the pillowcase, leaving hair more manageable the next morning. To be applied on damp or dry hair before going to bed.

Cuticle Coat Protection (Used on the right): Leaves hair smooth & tangle free all day. Contains Hair Supplement Oil, which is similar to hair’s natural oil.

Personally, I think both products work the best when you used them together. The Essential Night Care Milk is thicker and leave your hair feeling very moisturized.  The Cuticle Coat Protection is lighter but smells really lovely. I would say I prefer the effect of the Essential Night Care Milk if I really have to choose one.

Review: Hotel Kotex

Brand loyalty is a concept that is best seen in woman's pad. Nope, it is not the writing pad. It is that monthly pad. Women, are God's fickle creation. But one thing I realize we really stick to, through the bad days (literally) are the pads. Of course, sometimes, we do give other pads a try. Free Samples with Bunny: Sample Store Part 3

Sorry, but today Bunny is not in the mood. So, unfortunately, there is no bunny to introduce you the "coolbies" at Sample Store. But fret not, you still have me *inserts dopey smile*.

So finally, I have redeemed my free samples :) It has been quite a long time since I last did that cos the "free" samples weren't really up to my liking. And I usually only redeem samples when I have a trip coming up. So does that mean ForFunk is going on a trip...*drum roll* YES YES YES!

So do stay tune to find out more. There are still a lot of collabs and negotiations in progress. Quality content as I would like to put it :) Would really love to do a giveaway too, but I am really busy now. So let's put that on hold first ok!

1. Darlie Expert Fresh Toothpaste - Good for the trip cos it is travel size. Hurray! It is practical too. So I would really encourage you all to redeem this.

2. Cure Natural Aqua Gel - Heard a lot of good things about this so decided to try it out. It really does scrub out the "dead skin". Gel is supposedly better for the face but most of us are still pretty use to the scrub cos there is more "cleaning feeling"?!? I am ok with both, so probably would alternate between a gel and a scrub. You too, can try this product out.

3. Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil - This is one product that can fight with V10 plus. I would consider buying it, but first I have to finish my V10 plus. It is a good alternate product for V10 Plus if you are like, always changing between 2 products so that your face won't get immune to a certain one.

4.Comfort Aromatherapy - Redeeming this for my mum since we use that at home anyway. Hahaha. Checking out 4 is always more economical than checking out 1.
