Magiclean Stain and Mold Remover Works!

Ok, I admit we have been lazy. We didn't get the squeegee at first so for nearly 3 months, we did not clean the  glass shower screen of our bathroom. By the time, we were ready to clean it, there was already soap stains that could not be removed through normal soap and water. Honestly, I was really disappointed with myself because the house was new. I felt like I have failed my adulting journey.

When Try and Review (Referral Code: 4506) offered a chance to try out Magiclean stain and mold remover, I was pretty excited. There just might be hope for my shower screen.

We are happy to announce that it works! However, you have to use it generously and you can wipe it off with a cloth. You don't have to use much strength too! Check out the before and after! I am stoked and I do see myself buying another bottle after I am done with this bottle to keep my shower screen clean.

I have created some "mess" in my adulting journey, really quite a greenie. If I managed to resolve them, I will share them here so that you guys don't have to go through the same heartbreak as me!

Boosting my immunity system with Blackmores Vit C

I am not sure whether is it because I am breastfeeding, but my immunity was kinda of bad lately, such that I would sneeze whenever the wind from the fan blows at me. Yes, it was that bad. Baby was also sort of getting a bit phlegm and would be snoring slightly in his sleep. I am generally quite cautious when it comes to supplement and medication (don't give a shit when it comes to food...have been guilty of snacking).

Based on my research, it is okay to take Vit C supplements to boost your immunity even when you are breastfeeding. The brand that I am trying needs no introduction. Blackmores is quite reputable. I have tried their folic acid too (highly potent but the pills were so huge and it made me nauseous). Try and Review sent me the chewables Bio C for review and I found them to be rather delicious and effective.

Although the recommendation is to take 2 every meal, I personally feel that 2 a day should be more than suffice to see an effect for maintenance. I still think that the best form of nutrients definitely come through food and not supplements unless of couse you are lacking due to some reasons.

Snowperk review

Skincare routine is really not for the lazy. Now that I have a baby at hand, anything that takes up too much time or effort has pretty much taken a huge step back. Time is really too much of a luxury and I would rather spend the time either sleeping or sleeping haha. Yes, I need my beauty rest darn badly.

By now, you may have realised that I am slowly laxing in terms of my requirements of my skincare products and reintroducing chemicals on my face and body. The reason being, my skin is slowly losing its glorious pregnancy glow (boo!) and I really didn't want to look too tired most of the time.

I was introduced to Snowperk by Try and ReviewSnowperk is a personalised skincare product. Each set comes with a base moisturiser and a booster that is based on your skin needs. I was recommended to use Booster No. 7, which is mainly for skin protection. The products aims to defend my skin against harsh elements such as environmental pollutants, and help my skin be more resistant to aggressions so that it will look more radiant and healthy.

Personally, I don't use any product of similar function in my regime. Currently, I barely step out of the house and my poor skin condition is mainly due to lack of sleep and breastmilk that somehow always end up spilling on my pillow and clothes (no thanks, baby! Hmph! )

I have been using for 7 days and so far my sensitive skin shows no sign of further irritation. The product is very light and non-greasy. However, I don't really the fact that we have to mix the booster into the base moisturiser ourselves. To a new mummy, I prefer simplified products.

Packaging wise, I appreciate the cover that squeezes out the moisturiser so that you don't need to have any contact with it. However, the cover could be removed so I am not sure if this would help the product to not be oxidised that quickly. The product is quite reasonably priced so I do see myself using it again since I don't have any product in my regime that does the same function. :D

I love Clarins

I don't usually write reviews that fast. But for this product, I am very confident of its effect. I am still using Clarins products post-partum (didn't use it during pregancy and utterly regret it) and is now a converted fan. Apart from the samples I received from DreaChong x WeBarre, I also received more Double Serum sachets from Try and Review

Although Clarins products are quite expensive, they are very effective and really deliver what they promise. To regain the pregnancy glow, we tried out the Double Serum. Within 7 days, visible improvement can be seen. My skin looks more refreshed despite the sleep deprivation. The product promises instant radiance, reduced pores and fine skin and visibly looking skin, which I think I will be able to see these effects only when baby is older.

Try and Review: Loreal Revitalift Crystal Micro-Essence

Whee...now that the little one is out, I am open to using beauty products. Unfortunately for me, my pregnancy glow is definitely gone. Also, I don't have time for any elaborated skincare regime. Anything that is simple and easy works best! I recieved the Loreal Revitalift Crystal Micro-Essence from Try and Review to try out for 7 days. It is supposed to (i) brighten and smooth skin, (ii) refines skin texture and (iii) minimise pores.

I like the lightness and non-sticky texture of the product. However, the product doesn't work as it promises for me. My skin texture is slightly refined, but my pores don't seem to have grown smaller. I don't think my skin brightened either. Either that, it is difficult to beat the pregnancy glow. I probably won't be continuing using this product because I don't believe in using anything that shows no effect.

Home Tester Club: Colgate ProClinical B150 Charcoal Battery Toothbrush

Usually, sites that offer free review products always make me raise an eyebrow. But the curious cat in me always tempt me to "sell my data" and and test whether these websites truly promises what they say. So, recently I came across Home Tester Club. Compared to Try and Review, the preliminary questionnaire is way longer but I find the review items more premium and relevant to people who are having their own homes.

Like always, I don't harbour too much hope but was pleasantly surprised when I was shortlisted to review the Colgate ProClinical B150 Charcoal Battery Toothbrush. Initially, I have to admit that the packaging didn't impress me too much because batteries just doesn't look very advanced. And when I de-construct the toothbrush, it just looked very meh on the inside.

However, after using the Colgate ProClinical B150 Charcoal Battery Toothbrush, I was absolutely sold. First of all, it is can be around a low $20+ when it is on sale. Working on AAA batteries also meant that when you travel, you don't have to worry about misplacing the charging wire etc. It is the perfect travel toothbrush for me.

My favourite functions includes the tongue and cheek cleaner and its soft bristles. Don't estimate this little boy cos it is as powerful as any other electric toothbrush. It does have a 2 mins. timer, but that is really more of a frill for me because erms I brush my teeth very fast (less than 2 mins). Note: I have no decay at all so my brushing is still effective ok!

Ending with a photo of me brushing my teeth cos I am extra like that. I even used a unicorn filter to match my unicorn pjs from The Puffy Fluffy. Actually, you know what, this brush would be perfect if it comes with a nice box so that I can bring it around. Colgate, if you ever read this, can send me a nice holder please. Hehe.

Going Vegan with Try and Review

It has been a long while since I last reviewed products from Try and Review. This box was particularly exciting because it had 3 samples (more than the usual) and it was totally vegan. I have always wanted to try out the vegan lifestyle given that two of my friends had gone vegan.

Apart from being an environementnal do-gooder, there seems to be quite a bit of health benefits from the vegan diets. My friends that had went down that path seems a lot happier and healthier. The thing is I really love my meat. I don't think to go full-fledged but I would be more than willing to try to hit the halfway mark. :D

1. Raw Focus +

The first sample we had in the box was a packet of superfood blend that contains naturally occuring caffine, antioxidants with additional superfood for a brain boost. This concoction apparently helps to fight fatigue and increase your level of focus. I was very excited to try this, simply because I love sweet matcha! But I have to be honest, this sachet isn't much of my thing.

True to its name, it tasted very raw and a little bitter. Each sip did perk me up cos I had to make effort to force it through my gullet. But it is good stuff because I cleared my bowels after a cup of it. I don't think I can continue on this box after I am done with the samples though -_-"'

2. Alche{me}

If you buy this product off their shelf, you will get a personalised serum. Mine wasn't personalised but the product was very light on my skin and did cause any break-outs. One very intereting ingredient in the serum is the Ginseng extract. The scent is quite overpowering when you squirt it out but the distinctive smell will soon diffuse away as you spread it over your face. (So fear not, if you do not like the smell of Ginseng.)

Apart from Ginseng, other products include Babchi seeds extract, high penetration Vit C, Wu Zhu Fruit Extract, Moringa seed extract etc. I really like how natural this product is and how it does not leave any sticky residue. I do forsee myself using it again, this time after the skin assessment :D

3. Norilicious Seaweed Snack

I saved the best for last. This snack is so yummy I finised it at one shot. Vegan never tasted so good. Generally, most snacks don't add in sesame. This snack is really strong on that. If you are sesame lover, I am sure you are enjoying this delightful snack. And good news too if you are weight-conscious, the packet is also quite calories-light. Guilt-free chomps!

Overall, I would recommend this box for individuals who wants to try to go Vegan. If you are already a vegan, I think you would go wild over this box of goodies. You can get them at Try and Review or sample other exciting products. :D Can't wait to sample more stuff already!

Why you should always test your products!

I haven't been reviewing any products lately as one of my reviews have gone horribly wrong. I am still doing this post to share with you guys the importance of trying skin/cosmetics products before committing to a full bottle of it.

K-Bright products have been popping up quite frequently on my social media. I was actually thrilled when I was selected to be a reviewer at Try And Review. Unfortunately after a few days of religious use, my skin reacted rather adversely and my skin became inflamed. Huge, horrible-looking acne started popping from my skin. *Gross photos ahead*

The point of this post is not to highlight how bad K-Bright products are (because many testers actually really love their products), but how important it is to always get the tester pack to try it out first. I won't say that I have particularly sensitive skin. But twice, my skin went berserk on me. Better safe than sorry. If you a little bit of an adventurous beauty junkie, you can always get some free samples from review websites.

I have quickly went to Beauty Base for some remedial action. For damage like this, it would take some time to heal. So meanwhile, probably no close face shots. Sigh. Hope the Hubs still love me now I am no longer pretty. :'(

Lock the moisture in with AHC

I received the AHC Moisture-Boosting Hyaluronic Toner for Dry and Dull Skin from Try and Review and I have to say this product is pretty dope. It promises to lock the moisture so that the skin looks more supple and healthy. I have been trying it for about a week now and I think my skin does looks a lot smoother and more radiant. Really pleased with it.

The AHC Moisture-Boosting Hyaluronic Toner is light and feels like water. Also, it does not leave any sticky residue on your face. I also like that you can use it with other products and the effectiveness is still there. From their website, I note that they have a lot other skincare products as well. Given that the toner Am really looking forward to trying out the other range as well. :)

Allergies to NIVEA Super Mousse Cleanser

This is quite an upsetting post. Presenting my last happy face :( So I was playing around with the Nivea Moisture and my face broke out in allergies. Generally, my skin is quite "resistant" and "brands-friendly". But dono why, this time round it flushed red...lobster red.

Despite all the fun I had playing with the mousse and my love for fluffy foam, I am a little dissed I can't use this product. And my Dad happily took it and in his words, "relieve me from the sorrow".

And so I will not be reviewing the product. Grrr. I am sure if my face didn't react to it, this product should be fun to use. Plus it supposedly makes your skin more hydrated  too after 7 days. Sigh, let me know if it works for you. I need to now save my face with I-dono-what.

If you have never been pretty, who the hell cares about being ugly

Updates: Moisturiser has saved my skin :D

Try and Review: Activa

So it has been like forever since I got any sample from Try and Review. Dono why maybe cos I got no luck. But finally I got to review something cos there are much more testers available. And it is something that I don't mind trying too! Presenting Activa - herbal sleep inducers.

And I am pretty darn glad they are herbal cos after those slimming pill scares, I am quite worried of my liver succumbing to bad pills. :D And these pills work 70% of the time for me (except for the time I had tea before bedtime.)

So here's a breakdown of what's inside the pill :D
  • Matricaria Chamomilla - Natural sedative
  • Lime Tree - Faciliates sleep
  • Lemon Balm - Supports digestion
  • Verbena - Reduces nervousness
  • Hawthorn - Acts on stress and anxiety
  • Eschscholzia - Helps fall alseep

I actually took quite a lot of photos on my Instastory so too bad if you missed it. But you can always follow me here. Psst. There may be giveaways coming!

Funky Find: Try and Review Website

Try and Review
So, I actually came across this site - Try and Review via a friend. And he told me it is a scam. But cos I am a freebie girl (LOL as true as a Singaporean can get). I waywardly insisted on signing up for an account too. I even bid to become tester. But the thing is, I never really thought I would become a tester because there seems to be so many people and so little items up for grabs.
Jeju Lily Face Mask
So one fine day, I actually became a reviewer for their Jeju Lily Face Mask. It is retailing at a reasonale price of S$1.80 at Guardians. This packet of Face Mask is super liquidy, which I like cos you can spread it on every part of your body, so it feels that even your hands and legs are being pampered.
Honestly, I don't know what a Jeju Lily is, but this mask has a very nice, therapeutic fragrance. Results-wise, I didn't see much difference. I still look shagged. Of course, it could be cos I only used 1 face mask. But hey, I only receive one face mask.
Try and Review
Some of you may be thinking now, should I test out as a tester? Seems like it is so much work for $2, which I can afford on my own. It is kinda true cos most of the products that are being tested are on the low end and you are requested to do a social media post on it. But given our poor economy, if you don't have spare cash to "try" and be adventurous, this is quite a good platform.
This is my first time and for all you know my last time, maybe everyone only got 1 try? These are questions that pop in my head too. But the good news for you (bad news for me though), social influencers have no priority or separate gift boxes. :( I definitely think I should be rewarded more since I am writing so much lines about it (This means work!) Tell me what you think? If you have signed up, have you became a reviewer for anything yet?
